Football tickets

Sep 18, 2020, 3:20 PM

Since the student tickets are so limited in 2020, a small group of parents are trying to obtain as many tickets as possible for the freshmen, as they have no chance at all of getting to attend the game.

If anyone wishes to donate tickets that you’re not using, the freshmen would appreciate it.

Fyi, my daughter is a freshman but she gets a ticket from me. We’ve had 8 donated this week.

Email me at sqwauker@gmail.com, if you’re interested.

The main purpose of having students only in the South Upper Deck is to NOT have students mixing with the general public and preventing further spread of the virus between the students and the visiting public. There were those that didn't want non-student fans at the game at all to avoid having outside untested public on the campus. Likely one of the reasons Notre Dame limited fans to students and then faculty/staff for unused tickets.

So while your plan has good intentions - there are ramifications well beyond just getting freshman into the game that didn't get student tickets. So personally, as one with tickets, but a real hope that in-person hybrid classes on campus need to succeed - I hope you don't get many volunteers to give students tickets that aren't in the South Upper Deck.

I don’t have any available this week but I certainly will get you tickets for future games. The students are the lifeblood of game day experience and they have been robbed. The students were told “ we need you to save football this season”. Wear your masks everywhere, even alone outside, social distance and by the way stand in endless lines to get your food at the dining halls. While most adults in the upstate continue to refuse to wear masks and practice social distancing we expect the students to do so or receive a ticket.
Most students really are trying to do the right thing yet we stick them in the upper deck, give out 2,200 tickets (9,459 were requested), and require them to have a negative Covid test before they can attend. No one else who is coming into their campus (their home) is required to have a test. They are the future IPTAY donors and IPTAY stuck it to them royally. Notre Dame got it right with their attendance and student plan and it pains me to say that. Clemson can do better than this.

We asked the students to save football. So far they have. Who exactly did they save it for? Donors? They sure didn’t get any help from IPTAY.
I have been a Heisman donor and suite holder for many many years. Decided to redshirt this year but was going to leave my already paid in full donation. Once I heard from a IPTAY rep the plans for the students I asked for a full refund and am not ashamed for it.
Some one needs to stand up for these guys. This is their school and classmates playing!
I never post here but had to agree on giving students any extra tickets you may have. I actually bought 2 lower deck tickets from another source that I will give to students each week. I say put the students in their rightful place in the lower deck and put the donors in the upper. Oh yeah.. band on the hill with instruments? Come on...

I proudly gave my two tickets to my sons who are both students. They will sit in the lower deck where they should be. Both have had negative COVID tests this week.
