I know this is a 2017 guy, but we did pick up a 2017 guy yesterday. Any correlation to these offers and maybe us not feeling as good about Simpson as we once did? Just spit balling here.

Yep. No reason not to have AT LEAST 14-15 scholarship OL at all times. Guards against the exact issues we've been having at the position - too many washouts at OL (no matter how good your program is, it's basically a crapshoot) to risk injuries or other setbacks to depth with only 11 or so guys.

The problem

We have signed 14 in the past 4 classes... an average of 3.5 OL per year and right in line with your expectations. However, the problem was that we signed 6 in 2012 and only 2 each in 2013 and 2014. I'm sure the coaches want to sign 3-4 per year and we're getting there. With WRs we typically get our targets and have a long list of people we can't take due to numbers. But with OLs, Clemson isn't typically very high on the list of most OL targets like OSU, AL, Wisconsin, ND, etc.

We're trending in the right direction. But, 2013 and 2014 really hurt us.
