Follow up on my dog I mentioned the other night

Took him to the vet on Saturday and they confirmed that he had a stroke. Lost the use of his back legs. I was prepared to put him down, but the Dr wanted to try Prednisone. Long story short, my boy recovered. Dr said dogs are a lot different than humans. Pretty crazy, but I'm glad he is acting more like himself. Pretty funny, but before he had the stroke, we thought he was going deaf and about blind, but now he seems to have gotten back a lot of his hearing! Still got cateracts... I'm glad he's still here. He's a good boy

Great news and so happy for you and the dog. Pred. is a wonder drug for dogs. Used it for many ailments on my dogs.

but he bounced back like a champion and hasn't missed a beat. as long as I don't make any drastic changes to my furniture he gets around great.

Doubt it was a stroke, since prednisone worked. Good to keep him off of stairs or steps if you can and help him go up and down otherwise. A dog jumping up and down from furniture and going up and down stairs really wears out the spine.
