Flying the Clemson flag. Forgive me if I have posted this

Sep 26, 2019, 6:29 PM

before, but I have an excuse...I’m going on 77 years old. Anyway, for the past +/- 30 years I have displayed my 3’ x 5’ orange flag with the white tiger paw outside every weekend we played...put it out Friday morning, take it in Sunday afternoon...win or lose. I recently noticed my nephew had a white flag with an orange paw out and the next weekend he had his orange one out. It dawned on me that if we play at home, he flys the orange one (orange jerseys) and he flys the white one for away games (white jerseys). I have started doing the same.

I doubt if my nephew was the first person to go this but I think this is a cool thing to do.

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Wish I could, if you know what I mean!

Dear Nice Old Clemson fan.........

Sep 26, 2019, 9:08 PM

......Thanks for flying our colors on weekends when we play. I really appreciate your show of support in your neighborhood. I wish all Clemson fans flew a Clemson flag at least every day we play a game. All weekend is an even better show of support.

FWIW, I fly my Clemson flag most weekends. I hate to admit this but I only started flying the Clemson flag in front of my house 15 or 20 years ago. At first there were no other Clemson flags, or any other school flags, flying besides mine. Now LOTS of people in my neighborhood and city fly Clemson flags on game days.

I hope I can keep the tradition up until I'm 77 too. I think I can since I'm already pretty close to your age!

Go Tigers!!

biw About every day...and all night, too?

Sep 27, 2019, 8:48 AM

I am mystified. You all are putting the flag up, taking the flag down alla time?

Hunh. Ours goes up and stays up until it’s faded. Then we buy a new one and that one goes up and stays. That’s how we do it here in Cootlumbia.

Me too. Well, ours is one of those 'garden flags' out by the mailbox. HOA rules yada yada. But I put ours up the week of Game 1. Take it down after ACCCG for a Christmas Flag. Then Dec 26 we put the Paw back out until.......Easter, I wanna say?? Or maybe some during Baseball regionals?

I’ve been alternating an orange (home) and white (road) on the flagpole on the weekends for a couple years. I put up the smaller IPTAY flag during the weekdays. I usually fly a purple flag during the off-season.
