you all know how the rest of that season went. i thought we would at least be decent that year and after shutting out furman we were all stoked to play vpi with former tiger lamont pegues. they scored like 31 points in the second quarter in one of what was a top five most miserable experience in death valley.
other than an amazing win over the lowly chickens, that was one miserable year.

my sophomore year. We won the opener against Furman, Homecoming against Maryland, and the last game of the season against South Carolina. I worked for the tiger tailgate show and had my car towed that game. Thank God we won!

I don't remember much (had to look up the date and the score) because I was in Tiger Band, and I was primarily concerned about the heat that day; it was exceptionally hot even for a Clemson home opener and it was my first time in the band's wool uniforms. I was drenched in sweat before the game even started--seriously had never sweat so much in my lifetime--but I do remember how incredible it was to play the first note of Sock It To 'Em and then Tiger Rag as the players came down the hill. I even managed to remember to play the music instead of being overwhelmed by the noise and the enormity of the stadium. Not only was that my first game as a student, it was my first Clemson home game ever, and I was immediately and hopelessly addicted to Clemson Football from that moment forward.
