Interesting how no playoff or NY6 games had Covid issues.

Jan 1, 2022, 3:19 PM

But smaller bowls were cancelled.

It’s all about the money. Too much money to cancel these bigger bowl games.

Absolutely not. That COVID has a mind of its own.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nah. It was like 5 days in a row of games cancelled.

Jan 1, 2022, 3:28 PM

Now nothing. It has disappeared.

Convenient considering these are the big money bowls.

I think it had more to do with what happened to nc state. After that fiasco I think everyone figured out real quick you play with what ya got. UCLA will suffer from their mistake going forward

The national conversation has finally changed in the last few days.

CNN gave people permission to discard masks.

CDC cut quarantine from 10 to 5 days if they are asymptomatic 'because people have to get on with life.'

Then they told us the tests are largely inaccurate.

Then they acknowledged that vaccines don't stop respiratory pandemics. The only value of the vaccine is to minimize the severity of the bug once you get it.

And Fauci admitted that the hospitalized case numbers are greatly inflated because many people, especially children, have Omicron but are actually hospitalized for something more serious--like a broken arm, or appendicitis. His examples, not mine.

All in all, a degree of reasonableness has crept into our thought processes. Pretty soon Twitter might even acknowledge it.

So yeah, I don't think the NFL is going to be canceling the Super Bowl because of Omicron, so why should the CFP?

That's funny

It’s not that the experts and leaders have gotten “more reasonable.”

Jan 1, 2022, 4:45 PM [ in reply to Re: Interesting how no playoff or NY6 games had Covid issues. ]

The omicron strain, which very quickly became the dominant strain due to it being so much more contagious than the delta strain, seems to cause less severe disease overall. That, plus the fact that the vaccine and boosters have been around a while, led to some policies and recommendations changing.

It’s that simple.

keep 'em locked down. Otherwise they would have a lot of covid cases like the red states.

Looking for your Sarc/ tag….

Cases up over 1300% since the Old Boss implemented the vaccine passport system back in August in NYC, up 861% since the renewed mask mandate less than 3 weeks ago.

The ACC had three: BC, Miami and Virginia, while N.C State got the shaft from UCLA, which nearly happened to Wake.

There are still 2 New Year's 6 games to go so how do you know? There is no mystery, some states have more cases than others and yesterday, South Carolina had a record number.

Be careful, that Omicron variant thingy is like a common cold, be sure to carry plenty of tissue for that runny nose. If media/news would shut up about it then they’d find out more people are dying from flu than COVID at this point.

Don’t let a box make your choices. Do what is best for you. Wear a mask, stay home, travel, don’t travel, eat vegan, go to the park, watch movies, play games, spend time with friends/family. ITS YOUR CHOICE, enjoy life, don’t be afraid of it. There are enough things in everyday life to worry about.

No matter how hard, or how much people try to play down how serious covid 19 can be, it's real and it is deadly, and no person knows how its going to affect them until it's in their lungs, and how well your body will or will not have or build it's own immunity defense to fight it off. It has already kill a whole bunch of strong healthy and younger people that was sure their body could, would keep covid 19 from killing them. there is one sure thing that happens with covid 19, once it takes your immune system to the death bed, very, very few have lived to tell about it, when a simple vaccination would have gave them a 92% chance of survival.

I found something that the people who continue to argue against the covid vaccine should read bc vaccines has been developed for a long time, and everyone living today should be thankful for. Read about these diseases, and the deaths before and after a vaccine was made in times where medical science was nothing compared to the advantages medical science today has, that insures us to be safe from killer viruses/diseases equals one as the same!!!

Put them all in a box, shake it up and draw one out, non of them was more or less than what covid can be after it continues to mutate on a wide scale. Some of you just don't understand enough about what covid can do if it isn't put in check, and you that refuses the vaccine, are the ones to raise your hand and say, I'm one of them that has allowed/helped this virus to grow, and mutate to be so violent, and so deadly through mutations bc I wanted to say that medical science was full of chit, and trying to scare the world!!!

There were people when these viruses/diseases were in the early stages that were saying the very same as you are saying today, and history repeats it's self if you don't help take part of the solution to slow or stop covid 19 from mutating to become one of these past monsters in this link below !!!!!! Killer viruses, and diseases didn't start with covid 19, they have been around through the history of man kind!!!

Just be clear. I make lite of everything. My thinking is like this. I’ve done everything I deemed prudent to protect myself (that’s right, triple vaxxed). Partly because I decided it was best, partly because my job is travel and I didn’t think I could convince my boss to keep paying me while I wasn’t doing my job. I have not and will spend one second trying to convince anyone else as to what they should do.
No one is guaranteed anything. I could wake up tomorrow with Parkinson’s or a brain tumor or pancreatic cancer or any number of life ending maladies and I know better than most having beaten cancer twice. I REFUSE to be scared. REFUSE. I don’t listen to anyone telling me to be scared. That’s simply no way to live. Be kind, be happy, be considerate, work hard and never ever ever live in fear.

Student athletes are the least likely to get severely ill from COVID. This post would make sense if you were talking about anything other than 18-24yr olds in peak physical form… I’ve gotten COVID twice & I’m fine—worst I got was similar to a flu.

The vaccine DOES NOT stop the spread of the virus, so it really doesn’t matter how many people get vaccinated as far as mutations are concerned. The vaccine only prevents severe illness. If someone refuses the vaccine and gets really sick, what does that have to do with you?
