I think the only rule is that a school cannot offer up specific deals for your commitment. They cant say, hey I've got Don Car Dealer over here who will give you $50k a year and a new Corvette if you sign with us. It has to come from the dealer himself and approached through the university (at most schools). The coaches cannot directly offer deals.
Im guessing thats what happened.

I want Venables to be successful but this could hurt if it turns into something. Riley probably saw it coming and left to do the same at USC with bigger boosters.

order to funnel NIL money for pay to play purposes.
Those players have as much NIL duties as a UNCheat student has classroom responsibilities.

Color me skeptical.
1. "NIL source says...."
2. The only statement I have seen the NCAA release was a couple of months ago. They basically said that NIL enforcement would be left up to the schools and conferences for interpretation and enforcement.
I think the problem is there is no NCAA rule. There are 50 laws in 50 states, each a little different.
