Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Wow. We were there and it’s great to see the other perspectives of a true iconic entrance.

Nothing like a night game in the valley. Special place

An incredible and special tradition.

Not having the hill completely full with fans doesn’t change that one bit.

Even though it's been over 50 years ago with 40,000 fans,

I can tell you from personal experience that the thrill of standing atop that old hill with those fans standing, clapping and screaming is an adrenaline rush the likes of which is unimagineable unless you've done it.

I was there that day in September 1967, when the tradition of touching Howard's Rock began, and the roar from the crowd with that first slap raised the hair on my neck because I knew then that something special was happening.

It was/is an experience I truly wish every Clemson fan could enjoy...because you would never forget it!

Now, I wish the student leadership would get off their assses, show initiative, raise he1l or whatever, and GET THOSE WARM BODIES BACK ON THAT HILL PACKED LIKE SARDINES when our boys start that rundown! AND to he1l with whoever meddled with that tradition.

Someone in another thread said they have less fans there because the people in the front were getting crushed on the fencing when the fans want to rush the field. Yeah it definitely looks better with the hill full though.

Don't know if it's true, but I read last year (in a posts) that they stopped letting people onto the hill from the time the buses start until the team is down the hill. It looked to me like many were waiting to get onto the hill while the team was making their storied entrance. There has to be a better way to get folks onto the hill before the team starts their run. Of course getting there early enough would make a huge difference. I was always there to watch warm-ups because I wanted to take every second in that I could. Go Tigers!!!

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.
