If the wheels fall off at Florida, I wonder if Trevor Etienne might transfer? We don’t need him next year but he would have 2 years of eligibility after that. I could see Dabo using the portal in that case.

Shoot, we need him asap. He's better than anyone on our roster and that's saying a lot with Ship and mafah.
It pains me everytime they say his name.

I like the fact that he hits the hole hard. Our backs hesitate to see where the hole will open up. I think it is more of a difference in blocking philosophy that causes it, but it always seems like Trevor ETN is running downhill.

Some of that is scheme. Florida runs more downhill type runs like counters and powers. We run a lot of zone where the back has to pick the hole while running laterally. I would also say that Floridas Oline run blocks better than ours.

Don’t have glasses on I understand how good Shipley and Mafah are instead of ooooing and ahhhhing at a player that didn’t choose Clemson. He’s good but I’d take Ship/Mafah everytime

Yeah not better than Shipley nor Mafah lol. But definitely has the talent as a top ranked recruit and obviously being Travis’ brother. But having him next year, he would still get a lot of reps being an RB2/3.

He's better than both of them as a true freshman.

He is if you take your orange glasses off. Sure wish we'd have been able to entice him here. He's got that quick burst just like bro. Remember, he's a true freshman.

I'll say this because I believe you both are right in different ways.
Trevor has higher upside and is a home rule threat. He's legit a clone of his brother we're watching in the making. I'd love to have him as a Clemson Tiger as I'm sure he'd easily be in the rotation like his brother was freshman year.
That said, is he as reliable as Ship, Mafah, or Pace outside of that home run threat? Probably not as how many freshman RBs are elite receivers and blockers when stepping on campus? Even Travis, despite flashing plenty as a freshman, wasn't the best blocker or pass catcher.
Not that I don't get your point because we'd probably have folks screaming on the board to boost him to starter after breaking off some fun runs.

You make some good points but I'd have to disagree that Shipley is a good blocker when it comes to pass protection...

Yes. Better than both. They are both great, but neither have elite speed. Mafah is a power back and Ship is a tweener. Always gets run down from behind. Different styles than ETN, but a true he is definitely better. I'd trade either of them for him tomorrow. That is just my opinion though.

How can the wheels fall off Florida in coach's first year and they are going bowling? Etienne's looks good but he didn't want us and we don't need him.

If they lose tonight 6-6 isn’t acceptable to them. If they do the same next year it will be considered a failure. That was the timing I was thinking of.

Trevor is bigger and stronger than Travis. He’s better than our current backs. If you can’t see it, it’s because you are a Clemson homer. I’d kill to have that kid.

He's a better big play threat. He's not a better RB.

Shouldn't be surprising he wasn't on the field for a final possession where Florida was never going to run the ball. You put an experienced guy in there in that situation to block and maybe leak out as a safety valve for a short gain and scoot OOB. Not an ideal situation for a FR.

He's at U of Florida so that he can be close to Travis.
