ESPN thinks we struggled last night

Have they watched any other game from Miami or Oklahoma this year?
Miami struggle-wins: FSU, GaTech, UNC!?!
Oklahoma struggle-wins: Baylor, TX, K-State

I may not actually actively pull against the Coots this week. If they win, maybe ESPN gives them credit for having a pulse the next week.
Kind of a heads we win, tails they lose proposition.

We did struggle. There are certainly reasons for that, not the least of which are key injuries on D. However, right now KB is not playing well. He's actually playing like I thought he might play this year...the way he played the first half of the year was a complete (and pleasant) surprise. If he doesn't regain the confidence/consistency he showed the first half of the season, we won't beat Miami...and SC won't be easy.

We fumbled twice inside the 5 yard line. We could have beat them by 30 points but we let them hang around and they have great players on D and made some plays on O. I will take a 17 point struggling win every day.

It seemed to me that during the offensive slump, Clemson was just going through the motions. There was a lack of focus and sense of urgency. This obviously does not apply to every player, and the same has been observed about teams in previous years, including last year.

How was our struggle compared to Alerbamer's?
They probably struggled their way back to #1 again.
Got to love college ball.

They struggled on the road against the #16 team. We struggled at home vs a 3 - 5 team.

FSU has the talent of a top 5 team. Yes they were 3-5 I know.

I don’t care about their individual talent or potential, they’re pretty bad right now.

You don't think those taleneed guys have pride aND have the Clemson game circled as THE GAME of the year to redeem themselves. Very talenter hard hitting d combined with letting off the gas in the third quarter let them stick around.

That doesn’t mean we didn’t struggle, we did. I’ll gladly take the 17pt win and hope to improve in the coming games. I just don’t understand how Clemson fans get upset by anyone saying we struggled.

Lost to Miami on the last play. Lost to NC St by 6. Played Bama into the second half and Bama made some plays to take over. Yes they played bad against BC.

Miami is a completely different team right now. NC state beat them after a 2 week layoff from a hurricane and starting a backup freshman for the first time. They played BAMA with Francois until late in the 4th. I’m confident that all 3 teams would destroy FSU if they played again.

#16, LOL. That's just the usual inflated SEC lie ranking.

ESPN has been lying so much, for so long, about how good the SEC is, and they just trade rankings between each other. I would take any SEC team's "ranking" with a grade of slaw. It doesn't mean anything. Remember when Miss St and Ole Miss were tops in the nation? LOL. ESPN wanted 4 SEC teams in the CFP. (and yes, those were CFP rankings, not ESPN's, but ESPN uses every influence at their disposal. For example, Lavar over DW4).

Struggled to a 17 point win whole out gaining them by 150 yards and had double the number of 1st downs. This while fumbling twice inside the 5.

2 fumbles inside the 5 contributes to the struggle. Get it? We struggled to score because we fumbled.

Did you not read my post? I said we struggled to a 17 point win. We can struggle and win by 17 against any team and that would be okay with me.

Why is it that Alabama gets credit for beating a No. 3 FSU and we get credit for struggling (31-17) against a 3-5 FSU but Alabama showed it's greatness beating a No. 16 Miss St team with 38 seconds left?

Think real hard and I think you can figure this one out. Besides, what’s the issue? We’re both in the top 4 and they, like the rest of CFB teams, look very beatable.

Those guys are worn out from working all day and...

they are reacting on gut from an exhausting day of watching football. The emotional drain of realizing that all the BS they've pumped on ND and UGA has taken its toll on their egos. They are emotional children who are ready to pump a new hero to prove that their last hero was indeed a hero.
If you're putting your hopes and dreams on ESPiN you are fulfilling a Biblical prophesy, 'The blind will lead the blind...'

Those pundits almost had their #1, #2, and #3 picks for the CFP to lose, and only a miracle finish saved #2. Sounds like they don't understand the game of football. Not worth worrying about. T-net is the source as we know everything. ESPN should be quoting t-netters. Maybe Herbie does, at least to get his #4 pick for the CFP.

Be honest with yourself though... how many passing points have we left on the field these past 3-5 games (all year really) because of inaccurate throws? Conservatively speaking, I’d say between 49-63 points in the last four games alone. Last night coulda / shoulda / woulda been 45-7.
That being said, I wouldn’t say anything close to “we struggled” with FSU. Nor am I as worried about Miami as everyone with a microphone today. Their defense, as insane as it looked against an overhyped Notre Dame team, isn’t even ranked in the top 40 in rushing, redzone, or total defense (and we are a run-first offense). They do, however, rank in the top 5 in sacks, tackles for loss, and passing efficiency defense. I trust the coaches will put together a good plan for them on 12/2.
For now? Let’s see Hunter for 3 quarters against Citadel! Please!
