Unless, the unthinkable, and unimaginable happens in 10 or 15 years, where we had a string of 5 consecutive losing and bowl game-less seasons and that the fans and administration signaled it wanted to change directions.
Which based on my calculations has zero to no chance of happening, he will be riding his moped around Lake Hartwell for a very long time.
I know it's fun for SEC fans, and pundits to do the "what-if", but it's already, really really old.
It comes from the fear of "what-if" Saban retires, and Dabo doesn't go there, and Clemson had the same level of success and titles Bama has had over the past 10 years. The ACC, not the SEC, would be considered the best football conference in the nation. And that, THAT! Is what they are truly afraid of.

Great read. Swinney offers a lot of perspective on our program that I wish some of our fans would have. While in my mind the two decade championship drought was inexcusable it helps me better appreciate where we are at. “National championship or bust” is unhealthy and unrealistic for any program even Alabama.

I know what the writer is trying to say, but in Dabo's first meetings with Trustees, he said himself he didn't want a program like anyone else (ie. Michigan, Alabama, Notre Dame, etc).
He wanted all of them to look to Clemson and say they wanted to be like us one day.

I have to admit I was one of the last all in with Dabo. I thought he would improve over Tommy Bowden, but I didn't think he would build an elite program. He is not resting on his laurels, constantly working to make it even better. What I am most impressed with is the Family and fun is part of the success; not a prison warden approach like Saban.

If Alabama=Dabo's home then yes. If they think Dabo has build a program in the image of Alabama's program they are desperately wrong. Clemson football is so much more than football.

Big difference with Bama playing an Sec schedule.....those Acc opponents just don't stack up....even considering the Sec being down the last few years.
