Errant Passes and Drops

Nov 17, 2018, 11:36 PM

Because we practice most of the week indoors, as possible that the Lawrence and our receivers underestimated how this weather has affected the throwing and catching of the ball.

Any one have thoughts on the lighting or maybe the fact that it was a night game, or am I reaching? I personally have no experience, but playing softball on. Church league at about 14 years old, I remember it being difficult or harder to judge pop flies. We only played a few night games, but i never did really adjust...

Agree, and as noted, I saw a lot of catchable balls tonight, so when I saw Renfrow drop one or two and then go down on his last play I started getting nervous. Not like I could catch any of those balls, but it wasnt like us to miss so many...

I still blame it on ADRENALINE. He is young, on a huge stage, and he lets it rip. I think he actually throws too hard on his shorter routes. Especially to our RB's like ETN. They are NOT receivers, and do not catch as well.

Another thing I think our OC's need to do on pass plays is have an extra TE in the game to block. Not just ONE, but TWO. Let them BLOCK for TL, so he has time to find an open receiver. He does not feel pressure soon enough and too many times blitzes are hammering him. I know this sounds stupid, but TL is not experienced enough to handle blitzes yet, so something drastic needs to happen.

National leaders in completion percentage on blitzes with zero interceptions. He punishes teams that blitz and will...again...only get better.

Seven starts and he leads the ACC in TD passes and is among the leaders in many other categories. Every top player has a game where they're amped a bit and timing is off, regardless the sport. TL had that tonight and the receivers' were all thumbs on too many drops. In the case Galloway, he grossly mistimed his jump for that pass...was almost back on the ground when he got his hands on it.
