Enough with the BV hate, my word!

All the man ever did was give EVERYTHING he had to Clemson, and he DELIVERED. Anyone else remember the Orange Bowl? I sure do. BV erased those memories and THEN SOME. He left for an opportunity to be the HC at a football blue blood, who ON ANY staff wouldn't do that? They would have to be insane or a Longhorn Alum not to. Along the way he didn't tamper with any recruits, I do NOT believe he did. One, ONE unsigned kid from Kansas chose to remain closer to home and play for the coach who was his primary recruiter and who he clearly had bonded with while again, playing in his family's geographic region. it's not rocket surgery folks! and last, to Bates.
We could have kept him, could have made him the DC. Dabo chose differently and I respect that and can only hope it works out for the best. As for coach TB leaving to become a DC or even co-DC IS a promotion and is what's best for him and his family going forward. I think he was a solid coach and better recruiter, but CDS hired him and hopefully will make an even better hire. I swear the daily sky is falling folks here are killing me. Some of these are the same people who stuck their heads in the sand or argued when some of us said 3 years ago that our O line played soft and that Trevor was making them look better. So now these same people are suddenly experts on program building? Gimme a break. There is good and bad every year, and I personally am looking forward to seeing what spring practice brings. Step away from the edge. GO TIGERS!

I remember that it was as bad, or maybe worse, on Tigernet when Rick Stockstill left as WR coach and recruiting coordinator. Some thought we would never find another coach who could recruit a high school player. TB hired CDS, and the response to that was bad also. How did things turn out?

My Word!

Thanks for that! I am no prude but I remember when the worst criticism my grandmother could utter was to say something was “vulgar” or maybe exclaim “My Word”! You didn’t reply to that. You kept your mouth shut and tried to become as small as a mouse. It’s very different now and I’m sorry for it. Civility is another word we don’t hear much of.
When elected leaders use profanity on air and in print I believe it is a sign of a breakdown in our society.

appreciation for BV, and certainly wish him well.
Secondly, I appreciate Todd Bates, his services for Clemson, and wish him well.
Thirdly, I am beyond the act of panic over anything associated with our program, largely because of our past accomplishments and my belief in our Head Coach. While I may not agree with all of his methods, there is a reason why Dabo Swinney wears that title, and not me or anyone else at this point.
Lastly, much of what I read on TNet is no different than what I heard in the tin can halls about our programs in the 60's...some of it loud, profane and vicious. Most TNetters don't know that there were a large number of students and fans highly upset with Frank Howard and our mediocre football program. That in of itself gave rise to knock-down, drag-outs in the dorms...where everybody had a name, everybody knew the game and everybody liked to cast blame! Now, frankly, it's the same but no one knows your name...which is probably a shame!

POTD, and most them tin canners who wanted change are our biggest donors today. I TU some of the posts that get TD's or called a coot. May not agree... Certainly don't get my skirt blown up. Passion is good, and it's fun.
