Let’s go to Miami!!

Dec 6, 2022, 8:23 PM

Just scored tickets on row 7 in the end zone. End zone isn’t optimal unless the play is at your end of the field then it can be great but the price was good. Maybe we can catch Ship on the TD leap. So I’m going with an ex-coworker and we’re gonna play golf Thursday, go to game Friday, play golf Saturday then drive back Sunday. I used to live close to the stadium so familiar with the area and courses. Just 2 of us so if anyone wants to join for golf Thursday or Saturday let me know.

Lots of worse places than South Florida to spend New Years. I’m pumped now. Spot the daggum ball!

Go Tigers!! Beat the Orange Light!

I used to love Miami, but not anymore. Be very careful there and wherever you go be sure to go in a group.

We lived there twice for a total of 10 years. Lived north in Broward county and I worked in Miami. We will be staying north of the stadium. I’m too old for South Beach.

see the splits of the OL, the alignment of the DL, the angle of the DB on the WR, etc etc. It's interesting.

Yes. As long as it is on your end of the field. My depth perception isn’t what it used to be.

But, you will be at the game. Man, Wish i could go but family issues preclude me traveling at this time.

The last timeI sat in the end zone was in 1974 at Neyland Stadium. Tenn ran a trick play to beat us.
They kept a WR on the sideline and as the rest of the team lined up, the WR slowly came back on field and made an easy catch and run. The NCAA outlawed this deceitful and despicable play.

Do you remember who that receiver was?

a football player from Carolina HS. We scrimmaged them in a "preseason jamboree" as they called it. I think it was my FR year in 1972. I was a DB, they did a toss sweep... he made one juke move and was gone for about 80 yards. I was tackling air...

As I recall, he held the SC 100 yard dash record for many years.

Always stay at Fort Lauderdale beach. It’s more convenient. Still get the south Florida vibe without the crap.

The 1974 Clemson game at University Tennessee was my very first game when I was four……

My favorite thing about Miami is the restaurants. You can't beat the quality and variety of Cuban and South American food. My goodness!

I live in Florida now, don't go anywhere West of the Stadium. Try to stay at Lauderdale by the Sea, Pompano Beach or North of there and definitely stay East of Hwy 1, (Federal Hwy).

Wow. It used to be just the opposite. Anything west of University Drive was ok. We are going to stay at the Vacation Village at Weston. Looks like it is the old Bonaventure Resort? Plan to play golf at Bonaventure and maybe either Jacaranda or Grand Palm.

The mods really need to start showing who TD's a post.

Why would someone TD this post?

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

We sat at the goal line for Oklahoma

Dec 7, 2022, 8:33 AM

What a joyous day.

Sat next to the band for Ohio State, also tons of fun and a dramatic victory

Not sure where to sit this time, hoping ticket sales bottom out and we can get something on the cheap.

See you in Miami. GO TIGERS

Jerry Richardson used to watch games from his box in the end zone

Dec 7, 2022, 5:40 PM

I think most coaches prefer that perspective.

Can really see the splits, holes, seams and passing lanes.

I sat in the club level of that same end zone for a Dolphin playoff game. Fins won in OT. On the winning TD I could see the hole open up before the QB pitched the ball and knew there was no way anyone was going to stop the RB. Looked like you could have driven a truck through that hole from the end zone.
