Elite 8 teams by conference

Mar 26, 2022, 3:18 AM

ACC - 3 (Duke, UNC, Miami)
Big XII - 1 (Kansas)
SEC - 1 (Arkansas)
AAC - 1 (Houston) [American Athletic Conference - moving to Big XII in a few years]
Big East - 1 (Villanova)
MAAC - 1 (St. Peter's) [Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference]

No Big 10 (despite getting 9 teams in the tournament); No Pac 12. Very eastern focussed with 5 of 8 from Eastern time zone, and nobody west of Kansas / Houston.

So much for the narrative that the ACC was historically bad this season.

Makes me wonder if eSECpn pushed that weak narrative to benefit them come time for ACC Network negotiations.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

Contract goes through 2036 so ESPN must really be playing the long game in this particular conspiracy theory.

2036? What idiot would negotiate that kind of deal? Swofford? Did not realize that if indeed that is reality. We have no other choice but to add or take away teams to get back to the negotiating table.

Not many people are as smart as those at The Augusta National Golf Club. Everyone, including CBS, works there on a one year contract. If they are not pleased with your work ..... you ain't coming back!

2036! Wow! Yet another genius decision by Swofford. I wonder if there’s a clause that allows renegotiation.

Well, you'll never get hired by ESecPN for posting that.

B1G only had 2 of those 9 in sweet 16. It's definitely a B1G choke job which seems to be consistent in both the revenue producing sports. Pandering to your biggest audiences.

"I am proud to be in the ACC."

Mar 26, 2022, 10:09 AM

"Our league is really, really good," Larranaga said. "Everybody recognizes Duke and Carolina, those teams are traditionally very very strong. But the other teams in our league are very talented, very deep, have great coaches. Very proud of being a part of the ACC." Clemson came close to beating all those 3 teams in the final eight. Brownell gets 2 and 3 stars mostly and and they improve over the years and year. Next year, like Miami this year, he will have an "Old team" and two burgeoning stars in Hall and Chase Hunter with tough "old" Hunter "Tyson" then tough rising big soph. men and some tough looking Freshmen, it ought to be a banner year.
