He didn't need this accolade to fall around his neck the day after his surgery. I hope Dabo, et al, can get him to just forget this was ever printed. This guy has enough pressure on him as a sophomore QB on a high profile, NCAA D-I football team. Now he has to win the Heisman or become the butt of every ESPN ACC joke for the next 3 years. Why can't these idiot media types just keep their mouths shut?

I get the feeling he is different, and I know our staff will not let any success on the field go to his head. It seems like Dabo and company have done a great job keeping elite talent focused and in check.

If he wins us an ACC title and makes it to the playoffs once I think everyone will consider his time here a huge success. A heisman would just be extra.

Whether he wins a Heisman Trophy or not, I seriously doubt he becomes a joke to anybody who matters. I can't imagine thinking that way. Do you really know anybody whose opinion might actually matter who really would think that? I don't, nor do I want to!

I understand what you mean. I think Tajh suffered from problems associated w high expectations and convinced Dantzler did. But this very statement, that DW might be considered for the award his first full year as a starter and only a soph,.. This has got to just be earing the coots alive. And can you imagine how the coots would deal with it would DW win it? We have an NC and add to it a Heisman... And if this weren't enough, we will soon be in the playoff talk. Some coot fans are going to suffer terribly as a result.

the alternative could have been that they consider him to be one of the worst QB's in the nation.
Makes me glad that they chose to take the position they did...especially if DW proves worth their mention.
