DW4 should sue the NFL

Aug 1, 2022, 11:20 AM

nobody has any evidence he did anything criminal.

Beyond criminal if we look at ethical or unethical, I haven’t seen any evidence that says the sexual activities were non-consensual.

As long as it was consensual I don’t see how he can be judged in a criminal court, a civil court or an NFL proceeding.

The women reported he hired them for massage then solicited sexual acts from them. You see this as consent?

No but that misses the point. You think its okay to solicit sex from women (or men) you've hired....a maid, landscaper, roofer, or only a masseuse?

Deshaun's decisions and activities were stupid and callow. He deserves his punishment for the black eye he is giving the league. That said, many many masseuses provide happy endings and they were paid by Watson. And masseuses do not routinely sue the clients they provide these services for ... except wealthy NFL QB's.

This was clearly a money grab. One that DW open himself up to based on a clear proclivity for prostitutes. It has been an expensive and embarrassing lesson for him.

Yes, but he did nothing illegal and shouldn't have had to miss an entire year and then be suspended for 6 games for this bs. Just a bunch of hookers that wanted his money......

And guess what? They got what they wanted by deshaun settling.

1. A lot of these "masseuses" were actually prositutes that he was banging. I looked up The first two women named in the suit on Instagram, and they were massage therapists that had pics of them in thongs and lingerie

2. I have no problem with somebody hitting on/shooting their shot at somebody they hire/interact with on a daily basis. There is nothing wrong or illegal with that.

Re: DW4 should sue the NFL

Aug 1, 2022, 8:40 PM

It’s one thing to ask someone you’re interacting with if they’re interested in going out sometime. It’s an entirely different story though to shoot your shot by pulling out your junk and/or taking the hand of the other person in an attempt to have them touch your junk.

Also, I don’t doubt at least some of these women made money from selling sex. I’m fact, it’s been my assumption from the start that he had successfully paid for sex in these situations with other women previously and possibly falsely assumed that at least a few of these women were open to the same thing and they weren’t. However, I do think it’s a bit crazy to see a picture of a woman in lingerie and conclude from that photo that they’re a prostitute.

Not exactly. But if you hire a female or male to do a job at your home and you find them attractive and suggest that sexual activities happen, is that illegal? I have a problem with any of the associations going above the legal system to levy penalties. Watson is probably a HO! Fact, but being a HO is not illegal!!

The NFL didn’t suspend him because they felt he broke the law. They suspended him for violating the league conduct policy.

An employee at any normal 9-5 job can face discipline from their employer without breaking the law.

Everybody knows, including the prostitutes who agreed to fly hundreds of miles to “massage” him what was being exchanged.

They advertised and instead of him using sound judgment, paid them to provide exactly what they were selling.

Stop acting like it was his mail woman or waitress at his local hangout… It’s a pathetic troll.

Re: DW4 should sue the NFL

Aug 1, 2022, 9:00 PM

Let’s assume that all he did with these 20 or so women was ask them if they were open to having sex. Let’s assume he only asked and didn’t whip out his junk the way some of the women claim.

In that case you’re exactly right that he didn’t commit a crime. However, by suspending Watson the NFL isn’t saying he committed a crime. They’re saying he violated the league conduct policy.

I’m a huge Watson fan and will always be thankful for what he did for Clemson. I’m still pulling for him to put this all behind him and do great things as a player and as a man. However, can we all at least agree that even if all he did was ask all of these women to have sex that it’s still pretty creepy?

If you found out some random guy you didn’t already have a high opinion of had tried to solicit sex from 20 different women during a massage wouldn’t you label him as a creep? That’s obviously different from being a criminal, but still.

Let’s put aside any bias about some of these women being potential sex workers and at least consider the possibility that at least a few of these women were strictly trying to make a living from giving massages and maybe Watson had the wrong idea of them based on his experiences with other women. Shouldn’t a woman be able to do a professional job without being offered sex? I think being asked on a date is one thing, but literally being asked to bang while in the middle of doing your job?

Again, not saying any of that makes him a criminal or defines everything about him as a person, but I don’t like pretending he did nothing wrong at all or at least didn’t use really bad judgment to put himself in that situation.

Re: DW4 should sue the NFL

Aug 1, 2022, 11:30 AM

I'm not sure there has to be evidence that any sex was non-consensual. What if any of the women's stories about Watson exposing himself were true for instance? Let's say he did this to a few women and they turned him down and he then apologized and put his junk away and took no for an answer. Even then wouldn't it violate some form of ethical code to expose yourself like that?

Let's then say he had consensual sex with at least a few of these girls. Let's use common sense here, just how is it that you end up having consensual sex with a woman giving you a massage? It's certainly possible that you're both attracted to each other and it just ends up happening. However, if it's happening with multiple then that likely points to paying women for sex. That's certainly much much different from what these women are accusing him of, but it's still not a good character look for the NFL that one of their biggest stars is out there paying for sex. The NFL conduct policy pretty much says it's a violation to do anything that damages the reputation or damages public respect for the NFL. Below is straight from the policy:

"Conduct by anyone in the league that is illegal, violent, dangerous, or irresponsible puts innocent
victims at risk, damages the reputation of others in the game, and undercuts public respect and support for the NFL. We must endeavor at all times to be people of high character; we must show respect for others inside and outside our workplace; and we must strive to conduct ourselves in ways that favorably reflect on ourselves, our teams, the communities we represent, and the NFL."

Aug 1, 2022, 11:38 AM

this ruling is based on whether DW violated the leagues personal code of conduct policy which basically states that all players, coaches, team employees, and owners are required to avoid doing anything that is detrimental to the integrity and/or public image of the NFL.

Undoubtedly DW has the common sense of a doorknob, having said that, if Hector Velasquez had done the same thing while making $11.25 an hour at the qwik mart , the woman would have laughed at him and no one would have ever mentioned it again.

The NFL has the right to discipline it’s employees how they see fit, just the same as Wal Mart , BMW, Michelin, McDonald’s etc…..

I will say it’s concerning a guy asked for a little hanky panky and gets a similar suspension as a guy who beats the crap out of his wife/gf

He’s an idiot if nothing else. No more instagram model massages for him, only team personnel from now on. ?. I’m not defending him because he was stupid BUT there is NO way women that advertise massages on instagram are innocent or naive women. They know what could happen in this situation and many would oblige. I feel I can state this confidently because I am a woman. I would flip out if my daughter advertised like this on instagram. It is extremely naive not to think that this could be dangerous to do. I do not feel sorry for these women at all.

Re: DW4 should sue the NFL

Aug 1, 2022, 3:25 PM

Let's just look on the bright side for DW4. He has several options in keeping busy during his suspension.

A. He could invest heavily in a start-up company making washcloth sized towels for randy men. They could be colored in orange and brown and called "Big D's Massage Towels."

B. He could star in a remake of the box-office smash about old baseball players coming out of the cornfield in Iowa. Playing the Kevin Costner role, but wearing only a hand towel, he could look shocked and surprised as 66 masseuses drift eerily out of the corn. The movie could be titled "Field of Creams" with the tagline, "If you feel it, he will come."

C. Hopefully he will help rehabilitate his shattered image by going to counseling and being a supportive teammate instead of a distraction for the next few weeks. He also needs to finally come clean about his obvious stupidity and errors in judgement instead of continuing to deny any mistakes on his part. While he was playing for the Tigers, he wanted to appear so very humble while admitting that his hero and role model was Cam Newton. Who failed to see the irony in that?

For a young man with such incredible gifts and talents, his future can be very bright if he understands that the next few months are critical for both public perception of him and his legacy in the NFL.
