I know it's not proper to take a game for granted

Nov 20, 2018, 9:57 PM

BUT, we all know that this game is a foregone conclusion. I think I was more excited when both teams were good and we knew we really had to play well to win. It's kinda anticlimactic to know that we'll crush the coots again. I like winning but I would prefer a real game and not something that will be over before half time.

I don't know. ESPN says we only have a

especially in a rivalry game.

At home, our two's would easily beat their one's.

Do NOT take this game for granted!!!

We came up with a case of the dropsies last week out of the blue...it could happen again. Adam Humphreys, normally a sure handed ball-handler basically gave away the game winning drive to the Coots a few years ago after a muffed punt return.

We mysteriously lost to an average Pitt team and an awful Syracuse team in the last couple of years.

While exceedingly unlikely, anything CAN happen. Never under any circumstance assume any game is already in the bag.

Humphreys got bumped on that catch.... Not really his fault.

Aside from ST play, this game could very well be a shutout. Men on a mission.

And it's not very smart either. Take nothing for granted!
And I want this to be over at half so our non-starters can also have some fun on the field.

Non-starter seniors the second half... I like it.***

I've seen enough of these games to know nothing is a foregone conclusion. That's why they say this game is a new season. Records get thrown out of the window and the two teams go after each other. Fumbles can happen, interceptions can happen, injuries, etc. As much as I dislike USuc they are not a Louisville or Wake. They have nothing to lose and winning this game would make their season. Overconfidence will beat you every time. I just hope the team doesn't think this is an automatic win because it is not.

The leadership factor on this team WON'T let it happen...***

I believe they wont either but anything is possible. Just look at Syracuse and Pitt they last couple of years. And the first half of Duke last week. I'm not saying we are going to lose just saying that ANYTHING can happen and its best not to be overconfident

"Throw the records out" is a cute cliche

but historically in this rivalry the better team wins. Clemson is the better team and it isn't close.
