Saw a video where someone used a mason jar to collect smoke from smoking pork booty and made an old fashioned in the smoke. Anyone ever had or made a smoked whiskey drink, and was it awesome?

had to be careful just cutting it up into smaller chunks. A little chip would fly across the room and you had to search for it in the carpet with a flashlight. (LOL). But yes, put a little piece on a straight pin that was pushed through cardboard so it would sit up straight. Light it, cover with a jar, let it fill up with smoke, and lift one side and suck out the smoke...
Couldn't do that with the soft green hashish, like Blonde Lebanese... it was too crumbly and just fell apart into dust... had to smoke that in a pipe.

that was fancy somehow, and the dude smoked the glass. The smoke flavor was still there when I got it and through consuming it (I was sitting at the bar, if you're paying for a fancy drink, that's the show.)
It was really good, unique, smoky, and all about presentation. I'd do it again if I ever go to a fancy cocktail bar, but nuthin wrong with bourbon on the rocks or neat at home.

and 1776 rye. Bittermilk cocktail mix.
A teaspoon of the Italian cherry juice & 2 cherries - torched orange peel - smoked in the smoker box using alder shavings for about 2 minutes.
Dash of bitters. Sip on for an hour while my awesome bride comments on how she loves that I smell like a campfire.
Freaking STOOPID good.

That sounds amazing. Like that bobble head, too. I’m pumped to try some smoke!
Best old fashioned I’ve ever had was in Nantucket. Bartender made his own bitters from scratch. I was surprised the difference it made, and how much better it was than the stuff you get from the grocery store. It has Bullit rye. Never had 1776.

Old Fashioned, made with Makers. The bartenders torch the orange peel that they put in the drink, and when it's done they light a smoketop and set it on top. The smoke gets drawn down into the glass. Let it sit for a few minutes, and there it is.
And it's #### tasty.

And it was one of the best I've ever had. Had it at Savi Cucina in Mount Pleasant; waitress brought out the jar of smoke and poured the drink from it. It was incredible.

in Robinson, PA, just outside of Pittsburgh. They make these and have all kinds of different flavors. Its really cool and the drinks are amazing. The place also smells amazing because of them making these constantly.

When I have the boys over, not spending all my time at the smoker. Dabo and Kathleen taught me to always be generous with my time as a host. And to never complain about how bad our offense is and how much my back hurts from carrying this team.
