Draft grades

Dec 6, 2022, 9:42 PM

all the talking heads have their takes regularly, but what matters is the NFL grades that will be coming shortly. If a player is not projected to go in the first three rounds, what should they do? I'm pretty sure I know what Dabo would advise, but obviously a player's situation could be in play.

Colbert posted a top 100 earlier today. Bresee and Murphy were top 10, Simpson first round, and Henry number 95. No one else, including Tyler Davis, Ruke, Jordan McFadden or Davis Allen listed. So, what should they do if they're projected as a day 3, round 4-7, pick?

‘What they should do’ is definitely not in my lane, but what I HOPE they’ll do is come back.

We saw way too many injuries this past year to not want min 2 deep, and even 3 deep. But I’m just a self serving fan…

Whatever choice(s) you make makes you. Choose wisely.

This is where roster management becomes a nightmare

as all these guys are expected to leave. JMac I think is gone as even in a lower round, as an OL he can win a roster spot. Ruke should return if not projected by day 2. He could really up his stock next year. Davis is the tricky one. Not sure how much upside he has left, as he's plenty good now. If someone were to grab him on day 3, they're getting a steal. I'm not saying Grady Jarrett steal, but a guy who will play many years in the league. There is nothing he is weak at. Allen could really up his stock with Cade.

The extra Covid year is creating part of this problem, otherwise, all other than Ruke would be seniors and gone

Davis should leave, he probably isn’t going to get graded much higher than he will be. Ruke could possibly benefit from an extra year but he’s already a 5th year senior. Davis Allen could possibly up his stock with Cade but what is his ceiling realistically? I would leave if I were all of them but I hope all of them come back

I would agree, I think height impacts Davis and especially McFadden. Neither will get taller with another year in college. Injuries may have an impact on Davis and another year in college is just more opportunity for injury.

It's pff grades so they're probably pretty darn close. Just list thru 3 rounds. So as posted, no other project in top 100.

Reading, I can see where they might not be taken until 4 or later. Not when they say this year is strong in dt, edge, te and cb/qb.

So unless as you state, personal or family situation dictates, another year might benefit them... good for Allen. But if Ruke came back, do others take a hike. I'm thinking page? Nightmare.

If I had to pick one, I’d prefer Allen come back. Offense needs all the help it can muster.

Briningstool should be more than ready to start, he was the #1 TE coming out of hs.

Striperfan, are you familiar with the rules relative to declaring for the draft? Is it a done real once a player does so, or can one reconsider once they get a dose of reality from evaluations?

Thank you-

Once a player declares for the NFL draft , they are ineligible to play college.

all could/would get some kind of NIL deal, how much, who knows. NIL can change this equation somewhat. If I had to guess:

JMac and Davis declare

Ruke returns

Allen up in the air
