IPTAY 1 SOUTH CAROLINA LICENSE PLATE

I acquired the license plate pictured here from eBay and the seller let me know they bought it at auction in Pembroke, GA. Just curious if anyone here recognizes it and recalls who the original owner might be. The only other info they shared was recalling seeing it (or one like it) parked in the first lot on the West side for game days. Just interested in the history of it. Thanks in advance if you do.

There is a way to do this thru DMV but I’m not sure how it’s done. Someone at the local tag office may can help.

I know guys who have located old cars that they owned by using DMV to run an old plate.

Oddly enough there was a Rupert Fike who was a poet and he was associated with Berry College in Georgia but I’m not sure he was relayed to “our” Rupert Fike. I’d like to know the answer to that.

Thanks for sharing IPTAY history. It was a great piece of Clemson history. I wish more people would share historical information about Clemson. Including photos are great.

I believe Gene Willamon (sp?) may have had that tag years ago. I remember seeing it around Clemson. There could have been several different ones who had it over the years.

A Clemson student at the time requested CLEMSON on his plate. He has always renewed the plate and still owns it.
