Don’t understand all the State must beat WF talk

The only chance Clemson has to win the division is a 3 way tie of 2 loss teams withState WF and CU where WF has beaten State and then we beat WF. As crazy as this year has been, it’s possible. My understanding is the league would take highest ranked at that point. Win or lose, for recruiting it would be huge to get to the orange bowl.

In that scenario I don’t see State losing 2 more. Possible. Not likely.

Three way tie pretty much goes NC State's way. If they beat WF they would have head to head over both of us. If WF beats them then loses to us and BC, you have the scenario that you mentioned where WF lost to 2 division opponents and the first team out. Then it resets and we lose head to head with NC State.
We need NC State to lose 2 games with WF, Syracuse and UNC left. Wake has State, us and BC left. We would probably be best off if Wake Forest won because otherwise NC State has to lose to both Syracuse and UNC. I have more faith in Wake losing to BC than NC State losing to both 'Cuse and UNC.

It's the probability factor.
WF losing would mean Clemson only needs to beat them to have the H2H advantage.
Also, a lot of us feel like the Woofies have a better chance of choking down the stretch to get 2 more losses.
NC State losing means we need to win and hope BC beats WF to end the year but with NCST winning against FSU yesterday, I'd say we need WF to win to give us an outside shot since I'm not so confident that there are 2 more losses for NCST in ACC play after WF

Need Wake to lose to us and BC.
Need NCST to lose to Wake and UNC.
Then we win tie breaker with Wake.

Either Syracuse or UNC. UNC most likely but you never know. 2 conference loss 3 way tie and it goes to highest ranked. No way Wake loses every game down the stretch.

Did you see their score with Army? 120 something total points in a game versus an option team. Army scored in the 50's. In regulation, versus an option team!
We have a D, they don't. As in our O is less of a worry than their d.
Miami beat NCSU already, we just need Nancy to lose 1 and Florist lose 1.

Incorrect, NCSU has a possibility to lose up to 4 and Wake 3. We could win straight up, or beat Wake and own the tie breaker also. Both are more unlikely than the 3 way tie.

Defeat Wake Forest on Nov. 20, which would give the Tigers a 6-2 ACC record;
2. Have Wake Forest (5-0) lose to N.C. State or Boston College, which would make the Demon Deacons 6-2 and give Clemson the tiebreaker since they beat Wake head to head;
3. Have N.C. State (4-1) beat Wake Forest on Saturday, then lose against Syracuse and North Carolina, making the Wolfpack 5-3 and finishing behind 6-2 Clemson; if both teams finish 6-2, N.C State wins the tiebreaker.
