Nope. Its been happening for years. As an ECU grad I can point out years and years of NCSU and UNC getting smacked around. Clemson needs to jump ship.

team in the ACC! Every conference, and I mean EVERY conference, has at least a couple crappy teams.
Va Tech's big mistake was playing a team like ODU at their place. Didn't they already lose there just 3 or 4 years ago?

I have been a Clemson fan for 55 years. Over that time we have hated SC, NC, NCSU, GT, FSU, Md, laughed at Virginia and Wake and Duke in football and not depended on those teams for anything. Why do we now (Saban language) give a #### about the other teams in our league being bad?
In my 55 years watching us play in the ACC we have won more National Championships than Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Vandy, Miss State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, SC, Missouri, and TAMU. We have won as many National Titles as FSU, Florida, LSU.
In my 55 years we have a better winning percentage than all the teams in the ACC and the SEC that are not named Bama, Georgia, FSU, and Florida. In the last 44 years we have a better winning percentage than every team in the SEC or ACC other than Bama, FSU and Georgia. In the last 10 years we have won more games and have a higher winning percentage than every team in the nation but Alabama.
We have always been smaller than most Power 5 teams. We have always had less money than most Power 5 teams. For quite a few years we had more stringent academic entrance criteria that most teams in the SEC. For all of the 55 years I have been a serious fan, the national media has regarded Clemson as a very second tier team, and the ACC as a very second tier football league. Never the less here we are near the top of all of college football with more success than most every team in the country aside from Alabama.
(Again going Saban on this topic) Why do we give a #### about the ACC or the SEC or the Big 10?
Losers follow conferences and celebrate when one of their opponents does well. Winners win and are happy with their opponents lose.
I do not understand Clemson fans who are so smitten with league envy. The CFP is going to 12 teams. If we got in most years with only 4 teams, we are sure as hell going to get into nearly every 12 team CFP.
Drop the league envy and be a Clemson fan. I thought VT looked awful and I loved it. I hope App State kills UNC today.

Yet clemson gets no respect from espn...initial 12 team chart...clemson was nowhere to be found...those bast...s will dump us any chance they get! Must have great qb...best defense does not matter unless it is Alabama or georgia...ESPN will always spice the narrative!

Well, when UNC loses to App State .. it will only solidify those thoughts; and why unequal revenue sharing is a must (at least until we can escape).

No shame in occasionally losing, that part happens. But as others have pointed out the shame is agreeing to play at ODU 5 times. It’s not a one-off, but is a semi regular event for them to go on the road to play what was first an FCS team and is now a brand new G5 team. That is pathetic. And they also play Liberty on the road this year.

I started out wanting VT to win simply because of the conference. If Beamer was still the HC I would have pulled for them throughout. (I liked Beamer) but the play that ODU scooped and scored on made the football fan in me come out and start pulling for the little guy. Those guys played their tails off. They didn't know they were supposed to lose. That game was a game to watch if you couldn't care less about the two teams playing. That was all about grit and a bunch of scrappy kids playing like it was the last time they'd ever see the field. In fact ODU gained a fan with the way their guys played.
