Don't be foolish, the two turnovers changed this game

No it wasn't pretty and yes we were getting handled on the online, but let's not get ahead ourselves here.
If we had simply held on to the ball then we are talking about a 10-9 game at minimum with them getting the ball back and us having total and complete momentum.
That interception and return broke us. It absolutely broke our spirit. I'm still not entirely sure we would have won, of course, but you're talking about a 10-14 point swing in a matter of one errant play. Or playcall. You be the judge. Still not sure why we weren't feeding ETN as he was quite literally the only thing working at the time.
Man, I just really wish we had been able to push the game to 13-10 or 10-9 and see how Hurts responded.
Our defense was starting to assert itself. Shame. But, such is life and the game of football. I look for Dabo to learn from this and us to return next year for an almost unbelievable 4th consecutive ACC championship and playoff appearance.

The second int

the defender tries to knock the ball down and hits it just enough to flip it up in the air somehow and it lands right in the defenders hands

Complete freak play

And you can tell it just completely knocked the wind out of our sails.
The game would have been much, much different had we simply played ball control.

It's a nice thought but we couldn't find

the end zone even when we didn't turn the ball over. We got a total gift when they fumbled on their own 20 and we proceeded to lose 5 yards over the next 3 plays and had to settle for a FG. The turnovers made the score worse than it would've been but didn't change the outcome, IMO. It was just Bama's night.

I don't think it's quite that simple. Momentum and energy

Are absolutely huge in sports, especially the game of football.
We seemed to be finally finding our rhythm and moving the ball with ease on that drive before the freak interception. Even the announcers said so. You could just feel it. We were atleast going to cut the game to 10-9 and like I said with all the momentum.
They were most certainly the better team last night but another FG or TD on that drive would have completely changed the complexion and course of that game.
When the pressure is on things can happen. Went from potentially being 13-10 or 10-9 to 17-6 in a matter of a minute.
That has a major psychological impact on a team. Had we gone down to get points of any kind then who knows...
But doesn't matter now. Time to learn from this and come back hungrier than ever next year.

Momentum is huge in football, we had it prior to first INT

We were driving and started looking like we had figured something out. INT changed everything.

All your points are true but in the end, turnovers count...we have won games on turnovers but in the end, Bama was the better team last night.

He's right though. On first int we had a post route coming wide open, KB was about to throw a td. Dabo said as much in post game.
Our d gave us a great chance. Dabo yelled at Streeter and KB after -5 yards on turnover and we come back next drive and move the ball pretty well.
It's a game of a few plays. If we just hang on to ball we probably lose/win a close 16-13, 20-16 type game.

Yep that play was the game right there. We had em. We got through the storm they brought and we were about to break them. That changed everything. Great play by their D.

You could just feel it was going to be our drive...

And on the other side of the same token, you could feel that the game was over once that golden opportunity had been squandered.
Give Bama credit. They made the plays and we didn't.

Yep that was just too devastating for us fans and the team. We were coming and had all the momentum and they hit us with a great play. Props to Pruitt for calling a great game. Their players came hungry and played great on D. When you have 2 great teams it is about making plays and not turning the ball over. The did better at both. May we see them again next year.

Our defense played well enough to win the game holding them to just 17 offensive points (with 7 of them coming after the first tuenover). We were hurt by several things: poor O line play, horrible punting that never did flip the field (no excuse for 30-35 yd punts in a domed stadium), plus the turnovers. But still, a great season, and I know who is fuming mad now is Auburn! They beat both teams in finals!

Spiers (sp)? had a GOOD season and a horrible playoff game. Props to Spence with two long FG's and our only points.

Bama came to play with an all business attitude

their players were psyched up, they were focused, they believed they were going to win. KB looked beaten, a look I haven't seen since Taj Boyd and quite frankly do not get excited to think about watching again next year. Come on Trevor this is your team to lead.

We were driving down the field with the score 10-6. How did he look beaten. Now after the 2 picks he did but he played pretty good considering Bama was in his face every play.

Interceptions would have kept it closer but we couldn't score a TD when we got a turnover at their 20. Pretty obvious we were in trouble then.
