Dogs at dks

Apr 27, 2022, 9:22 PM

How are people bringing dogs in the game. I know I’ve seen service dogs but you can’t tell me that those dogs are all service dogs. I heard if they ask tell them it’s a service dog. In the state of sc they can’t ask for identification.

I was going to ask if they all have the red service vests

but those can probably be purchased on Ebay so that probably doesn’t mean anything.

South Carolina law and the ADA prohibit public accommodations from charging a special admission fee or requiring you to pay any other extra cost to have your service animal with you. However, you may have to pay for any damage your animal causes.

Under the ADA, a public accommodation may not ask you questions about your disability or demand to see certification, identification, or other proof of your animal's training or status. If it is not apparent what your service animal does, the establishment may ask you only whether it is a service animal, and what tasks it performs for you.

The ADA allows a public accommodation to exclude your service animal if it poses a direct threat to health and safety (or example, if your dog is aggressively barking and snapping at other customers, the facility can kick the dog out). Your animal may also be excluded if it is not housebroken, or if it is out of control and you are unable or unwilling to effectively control it. You are still entitled to enter the public accommodation even if your service animal is not allowed in.

Time to bring my dog in. I wish they had bark in park like some places and schools do I have seen. I don’t wanna bring him to a weekend series but a nice mid week game where crowd isn’t as full. I’m game.

I noticed that last night also . . .

Apr 27, 2022, 10:12 PM

was wondering if there had been a “Bark at the Park Day” like some of the MLB Teams have?

None of the dogs I saw were harnessed or marked in any way as Service Animals . . . It’s all good to me.

The owners have to have a special tag/document showing that the dog is a service/emotional support dog. If they don’t have the permit, they cannot come into the stadium. Not that hard to acquire though, submitting some paperwork, fees, and you’ve got yourself a “service dog”.

Drop a steaming duece right in the middle of the smart home aisle. I love my dog but it's cool for him to stay home every now and again. I'm sure there are people who just need to have poochie next to them 24/7 but I think most people are taking advantage of the law cause they thinks it's fun to push precious around in a shopping cart.

I see them on planes all the time. Used to be service dogs with the red vest, but those are rare now. Most of what I see is just people that acquired a permit for an emotional support animal and they buy a ticket for the dog. Dog sits in front the seat that the ticket was bought for. I don’t care one way or the other if they bring their dog or not, as long as it’s not bothering me. If you want to pay $400 to take your dog through an airport, fine. I do however find it somewhat strange, but that’s my opinion.

Just another example of the “nobody matters but me” mentality. I was in a restaurant yesterday and a woman just walks right up to the counter with a puppy in her hand. Obviously not a service animal. Just says “I know I’m not supposed to bring him in here but I couldnt leave him in the car” and starts ordering. Guess she never heard of a drive thru. Unbelievable

It's gotten out of hand with common pets. It also ticks me off to see people bring them in a supermarket. Thought it was against DHEC regulations to take them in a place where food is prepared.

I have also been in nice stores where people bring them in on leashes like they are at Petsmart. The dog is jumping up on people and I have seen store managers tell them they have to hold the dog or leave because they can't have them jumping up on customers.

Time and place for them IMO.

I don't know about this situation, but some minor league parks have what they call "Bark in the Park." People bring their dogs.

They bring them everywhere now. I go into Home Depot or Lowe’s they are in there. Any restaurant in Fort Mill, Tega Cay that dine outdoors has them. It is starting to feel like people are comfortable taking them anywhere. I love my dog but I’m not planning on taking him out to eat or shopping.
