What is a good way to tell the boss you are sick?

I need to take a sick day to do some work around the house. Usually I take vacation days, but I am running low and have some Summer stuff lined up. Got TONS of sick days available though (Thanks, Gov't). People don't question diarrhea usually so I think I will go that route.

Care. Long as work gets done. I just schedule leave and put down sick or annual. Sometimes forget and have to call. Usually just say like "Got to see a man about some work going on, be in on Wednesday". He like "oakey doakey".
I may delay retirement for another year. All the young guns are like "When that ol'fart gonna move out that corner office so's I can take naps every afternoon?"
