Bret is one of the best posters on Tigernet. Always enjoy reading his stuff. And he even criticizes FSU on this board. Wonder how many of us would go elsewhere and do the same? Not saying we should. Just saying Bret is one honest dude.

Probably not because God said to love your enemies.I guess technically
Bretfsu is an enemy and he could be a wolf in sheeps clothing but we
can and will still love him and appreciate his posts.

Good one. Here is my analysis of the situation.

Rankings are based on recencly bias. FSU won the bowl game, Clemson didn't.
As for 2023, FSU appears to be loaded. But, it is dependent on 4 or 5 portal guys being as good as anticipated. For the past two years, our portal guys have been as good or better (mostly a lot better) than anticipated.
It does appear that FSU has enough talent to be competitve with Clemson next year.
Now, for the rest of the story. Norvell has doen a great job using the portal to get FSU back to respectability quicker than expected. But, IMHO, he who lives by the portal will die by the portal. FSU has to significantly improve HS recruiting.
Apparently took a nice step today with the hiring of Patrick Surtain as the new DB coach. All indications are he will be a big upgrade in recruiting. But, time will tell.
We lose a ton of talent next year. 2024 we will be young and not nearly as deep. If our HS recruiting doesn't improve, we could be a one hit wonder in 2023.
My opinion: Norvell is no dummy. He understands recruiting. He will continue to use the portal, but he will also figure out how to upgrade HS recruiting. 2023 should be interesting.
