Sitting right in front of where the ball hit

Mar 1, 2013, 8:18 PM

It hit the orange on top. The only way it stayed in is because when you hit the fence out here it gives nearly 2 feet at the top. OF hit tge fence and fence gave A LOT.

According to the ruling as i know it the orange is in play. What also doesnt help is the entire scar team literally running into the fence every half inning.

What's the ruling when it comes off the top

Mar 1, 2013, 8:29 PM

of the orange pad and goes up and hits the top rail? Seems to me the rail is part of the stands and should make it a HR.

one problem bud, reread the op.. never hit the rail

I also read another post saying they heard a metal clank..

Mar 1, 2013, 8:36 PM

And I saw the replay three times and it sure looked like the ball hit the very top of the pad and hit upwards and changed directions back to the field after reaching the height of the top rail which is on the walkway. So don't tell me what someone else said - he didn't see a slow-motion replay.

Does it really matter?

Mar 1, 2013, 9:01 PM

Look at the score. I think our announcers should give it a rest, too. We get it. The umps didn't make the call. We will never know if we go on lose like we are going to or if a HR call all of the sudden turned things around for us. Judging by the goofy errors, it has little importance now.

Dropped fly balls, base running blunders, walks, no offense

literally sat right in front of the play. The ball never hit the rail. Doesn't matter anyways. Complete team failure tonight in all facets of the game
