Do we really want Jeff Scott back?

look at his last WR recruits for us before he took the USF job. Are any of these NOT busts at this point?
Ladson - transferred to Miami, injuries, was passed on the depth chart. Ngata - injuries, 2022 first injury free year and...... 2022 stats: 22 for 389, 2 TDs..... Spector - injuries, long COVID recovery, 2022 stats..... 14 for 152, 2 TDs..... Ajou - was a "project" recruit, never took the step we needed, followed Scott to USF EJ Williams - injuries, occasional big plays made (ex. 2020 ACC title game) but inconsistent and arguably passed on the depth chart, 2022 stats..... 7 for 70, 0 TDs.....
Grisham's recruits at this point include Antonio Williams, Beaux Collins, and Adam Randall. Williams by himself has more catches than Ngata, Spector, and EJ Williams have this season COMBINED.

I've got my questions about Grisham as well, but is he really the problem or are the more senior guys who should be a lot better than they are now the problem? Fact is the young guys are the only ones making the (limited) plays right now.

in an OC capacity, it's pretty obvious, but as the WR coach?

I don't think going backwards is going to help us go forwards. That ship has sailed.

He wasn’t here to develop them. Scott developed WRs.

And I say that as someone who thinks the world of Jeff.
He’s a great guy and a very good coach, but much of our success while he was here was due to QBs like Deshaun Watson and an innovative offensive scheme developed by Chad Morris.
While bringing Jeff Scott back would probably help recruiting some, I don’t think he would drastically change our offensive game plan or the results we are seeing.

I actually agree with you here JK. People were complaining about our play calling when Scott was here too. They just have short memories. Scott is a solid recruiter but I’d like to see what a proven OC could do with all of this talent.
