DJ is a kind and humble young man, BUT

Nov 26, 2022, 6:02 PM

at some point the coaches need to tell him what he NEEDS to hear and not what he WANTS to hear. Tough love comes by having difficult conversations, not by continuing to tiptoe around the problem. There is a reason our WR depth has dropped off, there is a reason the offense has been limited, and there is a reason other teams have figured Clemson out. I applaud the improvements DJ made this year, but Clemson will continue to be stuck in 3rd gear on the Audubon as long as he is driving the car.

Last year I saw in his interviews that he spent his NIL money on Pimp like suits similar to what Cam Newton wore. That is the opposite of humility. It's kind of pompous and arrogant. With that said I think he is a soft spoken guy and quiet. That does not always mean humble. He has toned it down this year though. But that could be on advice from a media consultant or coach but not a real change from within.

I think he pissed off several players last year that had been on the team for two or three years or more. They were maybe jealous of his showing off in style of dress. And he hadn't even done anything on the college level to earn it. Yet, some of them had national championship rings and had nothing or little in comparison. Mainly receivers, running backs and one tight end. They did not look at him as a leader and weren't willing to put it all on the line for "their" QB.
