I asked the same question during the game. I don't know about the shade, as I can't imagine anyone would touch the color, but the appearance indeed look different to me.

I was sitting on the first row in front of the band, and when the team came out I thought to myself that the color/texture of the orange on the helmet looked a bit different. At the time, I wrote it off to the stadium lights, but now that you say they looked different on TV, maybe they did change up something in the way the paint is put on?
