Did Jeff Scott seriously say this?

On how Sammy has responded

"...I think he's responded the right way. I think his way of answering that is behavior and decisions off the field, but obviously he wants to get back on the grass."

Isn't that what got him into trouble in the first place?

There might be a meeting going on in Dabo's office as we speak with Jeff Scott and his choice of words lol....

If you watch the entire video you will notice that the phrise "getting back on the grass" was used appropriately to mean the men are ready to get back on the field and begin work. This is a common coaching term and Jeff Scott would never degrade any athlete in the media. He is much to professional for that. I think he displayed qualities of a great coach, definitely beyond his years and a reason Dabo chose him to be recruiting coordinator and position coach. I wonder what we, who think we know football, would say if interviewed on the spot under pressure and trying to use the correct words so people will not misconstrue it to something that the phrase or word was not intended for. I think we should all support our coaches and players and help build the attitude for greatness.

I don't think anyone is accusing Jeff of that. Just saying it's a poor choice of words for the situation.

Why would a true fan want to nit pick a coaches comments----let it go and talk positive about one of the nicest and most talented players CU has. We have all done some things in our lives we wish we could change and I know SW has learned it the hard way. He understands that he is a role model and takes it seriously. Fans should just let it lie and let the young man develop and mature.

I realize that sarcasm doesn't always "come through" in an internet post, but my post was obviously (to me) tongue in cheek. Maybe yours is too, I'm not sure. But that was a direct quote from the article.
