Did God reward Dabo with a national championship?

Feb 11, 2017, 10:12 AM

After all the criticism over him wearing his religion on his sleeves, he leads one of the most successful programs in recent history and wins the Championship.

Dabo rewarded Dabo with a National Championship, and God is happy for Dabo doing the right things to get there. God has a lot more important things to than reward his flock with Championships, but he is happy to see them earn those things for them selves!!!

I recently visited Cambodia - lovely people, fascinating place and extreme poverty for the vast majority of the population. I can assure you these people are not poor because of their choices. Their poverty is a condition of where they were born and circumstances beyond their control.

Re: Well then why does He continue to ignore the poor?

But the choice to remain in poverty is their own.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Well then why does He continue to ignore the poor?

Feb 11, 2017, 12:13 PM

Respectfully, this is not the case in most of the world. A mother with nine children living In slum in the Phillpiines who is not allowed to use contraception because her church forbids it and has no education does not have a legitimate path out of poverty. This is not a "choice" for so much of the world. I agree in the US the path out of poverty is much more possible, but definitely not always easy. But the US is just 4% of the world's population, so we must really expand our view here and avoid sweeping statements like saying poverty is a choice for all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Well then why does He continue to ignore the poor?

Feb 11, 2017, 12:23 PM

The God of the Christian Bible warns against seeking happiness through worldly gains like money....

So maybe in His eyes a person living in financial poverty with a smile on their face is rich and the CEO bringing in a six figure salary who's always in a bad mood is poor.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Well then why does He continue to ignore the poor?

Feb 11, 2017, 12:48 PM

Good. So these choices you were speaking of which everyone has to either be impoverished or not really don't matter then because the poor are very happy with their lot in life. Glad to know this.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Well then why does He continue to ignore the poor?

Feb 11, 2017, 12:58 PM

In the context of the question "Why does God continue to ignore the poor?"....

A. Some financially poor people are there because of the choices they have made and continue to make.

B. Happiness and contentment can be achieved even in the worse situations.

Everything is not black and white. I'm not saying all poor people are happy and all rich people are sad. I'm saying that from God's perspective some rich people may need more help than the single mother struggling to make ends meet.

God offers everlasting happiness which has nothing to do with how much money is in your bank account or how big your house is....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Well then why does He continue to ignore the poor?

Feb 11, 2017, 1:03 PM

I'm glad to see you have moderated your stance. You now say "some" are poor because of the choices they make. Previously your statements were absolute.

Re: disrepectful.. God follows human lives, not football

Football does indeed involve human lives. For this human life it's a way to take a break from all the other crap, and simply enjoy the game win or lose. It's should be a safe zone to avoid the realities of day to day life, and an opportunity to bond with other human lives without the daily grinds. I played sports all my life, and part of the beauty of it was the break from everything else going on. I'd like continue that break as a fan of sports now. The rest of this #### can be discussed in other forums of this site. I come here for football and nothing else.
