Did anyone else think when Seckinger fumbled...

"Hey, this is exactly how the LSU game started." I really thought we would rebound. Even when it was 17-7, I thought we were right back in the game. Then McDowell lost 7 yards on a swing pass, and on 3rd and 17 at the 35 instead of checking it down for around 5-10 yards down to get in field goal range, we just throw an incomplete pass into double coverage. On 4th down we punted. It was at that point, I realized it wasn't going to be our night.
We flat out didn't have it tonight. Every single momentum swing went in FSU's favor. They won individual matchups across the board. Both the playcalling and the execution was terrible. I don't know who or what to blame for this performance, but it was embarrassing.
This football season can still be a major success with an 11-1 regular season, a win over our rival South Carolina, and a BCS bowl. The way we played tonight though, we won't beat South Carolina, and we won't even win games we should win over Maryland, Virginia, or Georgia Tech.
So the question for this football team is, do you want to be remembered as one of the top football teams in school history, or do you want to be remembered as one of the most disappointing teams in school history? Both options are still on the table.

I never thought I would say this coming into the season. The magic seems to be gone. Where is the creativity? Where are the trick plays in big games? We don't even see jet sweeps any more. In Year 1, we always heard we hadn't even installed all of the offense yet. Now in Year 3 it seems like, we've got way less plays than back then. I just don't understand what's going on with the playcalling.

Look at Morris' mentor, Malzahn, and what he did today. He ran it down Texas A&M's throat. He watched what Alabama did and copied it.

Good teams don't need to resort to trick plays. I wish we could just line up and run or move right at people.
When Morris tried trick plays last year in the FSU game I knew he and the staff was not confident that we could just line up and beat them. We had to trick them and gimmick then.
I'm still waiting for Chad to open up the play book. But we can't block worth a darn it seems and running Hot Rod up the middle isn't ideal. He is not a power back.

Not advocating firing anybody, but I am not impressed with our offense. Maybe Watson and Dye are the "missing pieces", but I doubt it.

Agree on all points. We were just off tonight.

I think Morris seems to be calling a very predictable game lately, but I also realize that he would look better if our line could block consistently, Tajh stopped throwing poorly, receivers caught the ball consistently, and we protected the ball better.

At the end of the half when we held them to a FG, I thought wow, that was huge. A TD there would have ended it. But when I saw both teams run onto the field, I could just see in their demeanor, that the game was over. FSU ran onto the field excited and full of confidence. We ran onto the field with a very defeated look to us.

Ever notice that once Morris runs out of his 25 or 30 scripted plays, we have a lull on offense. Not the world's best at calling plays on the fly. And after all these years, the o-line still can't block anybody.

Of course I realize that. FSU has way more talent than us

as well. Talent-wise, we're probably around 15th in the country, while FSU probably has the most talent in the country. Our players aren't all-world, but if you add in scheme, coaching, and execution, we should be a top-5 team.
The product we put on the field tonight woudn't beat many teams top-50 teams though. We lost by 37 points tonight, and that includes our TD in garbage time. We had 4 turnovers, lots of drops, tons of missed tackles, and 100 yards in penalties. It doesn't matter who you play...if you play like that, you're going to have some troubles.
We played a very close game against BC last week as well, and another close game against NC State a few weeks ago. I don't think there's any question we need to improve. We definitely should beat the remaining teams on our schedule, but if we play like we did tonight, we'll have some tightly contested games.

offense got nothing on those two ensuing possessions. Score and make it 17-14 or 17-17, or better yet 21-17 and at least it stays a game into the second half.

It's time for Clemson QB that plays up to his hype.
