Just proves it. Anyone can be a lawyer. You can even represent yourself. You can't do surgery on yourself. It's illegal. You'd get arrested, and then you'd get a free lawyer.

Someone seeking a payout settlement from DW4, and if he is innocent, he should just make them prove their allegations in the courtroom. With the way that he was raised, I really don't see, or believe that he sexually assaulted anyone. Probably someone really pissed about him wanting to leave the Texans, and they are trying to hurt his chances of going to another team. OR, I wouldn't put it pass the the Texan franchise to hire a woman to make false allegations against DW4!!!

Pervs don't become pervs overnight. Deshaun has never been accused of anything like this. As a matter of fact, his behavior is the opposite. He has been nothing but a gentleman. This lawyer is going to regret filing the civil suit because DW4 wants to clear his name. Deshaun needs to hang in there and bankrupt the lawyer.

I would believe it quicker if a neighbor told me that my K-9 best friend was digging a hole to crap in, before I will believe that DW4 had sexually assaulted anybody. I just don't believe that he would do something like that. Not the DW4 that played QB at Clemson. Also, if I was DW4, I would wait until I had cleared my name, and then I would sue the woman for defamation of character. Yes I would do my best to ruin her financially for the rest of her life.
If he sued her, he most likely would get anything from her, but at least she wouldn't be able to have the nicer things in life other than a house, and one vehicle, in her name!!! In other words, about everything other than a home, and 1 vehicle, she would have to have it in someone else's name, and if they got mad at her, they could take whatever she bought in their name!!! Just knowing that she would be forced to be obligated to someone, would cause her grief!!!!

I just researched the lawyer. The guy is a real sleezeball. Deshaun needs to turn the table on this guy. When the lawyer ends up having to drop the lawsuit, I hope DW4 sues him for slander.

Have to say the order of this process seems very telling, approach DW first and request a cash settlement. He refuses as he has nothing to pay for or hide. Then file a frivolous lawsuit to try and force a payout offer. DW goes public and calls them out on their BS. I know they say never say never, but I have to think this never happened!

I wish accusers who make up stuff got stiffer penalties. If they don’t have the financial resources to pay, they should do time.
It’s ridiculous today how someone can have their career and public image ruined by an accusation like this, and the accuser isn’t liable if it turns out they made it up.

I certainly hope this is bogus and DW4 is able to prove his innocence. In cases where accusations are proven to be false, IMO the accuser should have to pay the same amount they are asking for from the accused.

If they can't prove their case with video/audio tape, it will be very hard to prove her case once the character of them both has been brought out in court. And DW4 can afford to spend a lot more money defending himself, than that lawyer is willing to spend to prove a bogus case!!! The lawyer and the woman will be known as bad people to everyone they know, and everyone they will come to know for a very long time!!!
My belief is that DW4 is 1000% innocent of the accusations, Not Guilty!!!!

I agree. What really sucks though is this is true in reverse. Without evidence Watson wouldn't be convicted of anything in either criminal or civil court. However, there's always going to be at least a small percentage of people who will take the accusations as truth, and that's a shame.

I agree. False accusations not only hurt the person they're made against, but they hurt actual victims as well because it adds so much more scrutiny to their stories because people think they're just another person making false accusations.

justice system. Frivolous lawsuits that are simply opportunists trying to either eliminate competition or make a buck off someones name. They should serve jail time. Theres gotta be some way to discourage it. We had a former president that dealt with it for 4 years and is still dealing with it. Simply b/c of party politics.
There should be harsh punishments other than just money that folks who bring unfounded lawsuits should have to deal with. Money is a non issues when an accuser is getting his legal bills sponsored by someone who has an axe to grind. Its a dirty world we live in.

Watson in a pitched battle with the Texans over his future and all of the sudden this comes out. Not to don my tin foil but it does make you wonder.
Also, I think most legitimate sexual assault victims go to the police/involve the criminal justice system before running to a plaintiff's attorney. Not in all cases - there may be good reasons to not do so. But it seems like a civil suit would not be the priority.

Please use the term, "accused" rather than "charged" as the latter implies that the police have investigated and found reason to charge.
I don't believe he's guilty, it's just too far out of the character that we all know he has. Hope he fights this in every way possible.

Unless that text has some seriously damning evidence...this is gonna be a she said he said and will go nowhere. If it’s true that they came to him for a settlement FIRST then i call major BS on this. Why not file criminal charges? Surely the statute of limitations hasn't run out on a sexual assault that occurred in March of 2020.

If she had evidence, Deshaun would have criminal charges filed against him. I have not read where the police are involved. This is a civil lawsuit, which anyone can file. Girls that cry wolf give us all a bad name.

The woman would have a better chance at getting a job and accusing her boss. "Ain't nobody got time for that" in business - nor do they want to sink six figures into attorneys. The majority of baseless claims are paid out unfortunately - not always what they are asking, but they get something.
Deshaun OTOH can afford to pay his lawyers for years fighting this and could care less what the expenses are.
