Unfortunate really. Yes, he’s at home and hopefully this will help him get his act together, off the field. The Falcons are stretched Cap wise and he’ll have no supporting cast. Maybe they can get a few picks for Ryan to ease the pain. Wish him the best.

It'll be interesting to see how much they have to give up. May see a tiger for tiger swap if Texans hold out for A.J. Terrell to go along with a few picks. The Falcons may be banking on the NFL sidelining DW4 for 6-8 games and they play the tough NFC west schedule next year. This could put Atlanta in a high draft slot following next season. If I were Terry Fontenot (Falcon's GM). I'd lowball knowing DW4 has a no-trade clause (why he's not in Cleveland) and won't play for Houston, but not to the point where the Saints could scoop him up. The #8 pick from this year, a protected top 5 first round next year and a mixture of 2s and 3s would be my starting point.

It likely wouldn't do the Falcons any good to have a high draft pick next season because it would very likely belong to Houston. Reports are that Houston wants 3 1st round picks. Maybe it ends up not being 3, but I'd be very surprised to see it be less than 2.

I hope he can repair and rebrand his image.

But the Falcons are a terrible team and are in terrible shape to improve. They have little farm left and will have to sell it to get him there.

So double edged sword for sure.
