... in the transfer portal, would Clemson fans be all excited about the fact that a big 4-star OL was out there just waiting for us to snap him up?

We’d all be giddy about the chance to recruit the portal to make our offensive line stronger ... right?

on if he actually played any at Tech. If he was there 3 years and hardly played I don't think you'd see much excitement

As Swinney has said, most of those guys in the portal are there because they were not playing where they were. This guy is a prime example.

how good is he? we needed help. he hardly played. Seems he didnt think he'd play much here for whatever reason. My suspicion is he is no Anthony Munoz.

Darn good question. But just like the uva center, we'd have had a lot of tape on Tchio. If he performed at ga tech like he did here, then no.

Most fans would look at the star level and probably a few accolades written and jump on it. The coaches wouldn't because they'd have tape.

But I'll predict we'll know a lot more after next season if he busts out and becomes an ACC first team oline player. My bets on not, but we'll see.

But in terms of P. Tchio himself, is there any understanding out there on what happened?

Outstanding line recruit. An o-line that is poor to average at best. Little play time. Little development.

Poor work ethic? Poor training? Poor maturity? Lack of coaching relationship?

Along with the rest of these highly rated o-linemen who never get in the rotation or develop, another wasted opportunity to help the team.

If I remember Paul T. Has skinny ankles and no punch at contact and no nasty streak. It sounds like PT is another 6’5 300 pounder somewhat athletic but not a big time D1 or NFL offensive lineman. I don’t know Paul so maybe I am wrong and it seems he has never been in trouble at Clemson so I hope he turns out great for GA Tech and I hope he is happier having transferred. This is an example of why Dabo has been reluctant to use the portal because usually you are picking up a player with issues. Having said that I hope Dabo gets the best of the best from the portal and that includes the center from UVA.

Tech runs a different offense than we do. He may fit better in that scheme.
