Dems talking guns...lol

May 7, 2021, 9:51 PM

"We should also ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country," Biden said. He said "there's no reason" a person would need a weapon that can hold "100 rounds." -Clueless old man or President. Oh it’s both, crazy.

Jesus. I’ll just post the whole article. This man is a gd moron.

How insulting would it have been had he said clips instead of magazines?

If it’s not a health crisis or racism; it’s infrastructure.

Complicated issue. On the one hand, I own multiple ARs, and have a fun time building them and shooting them at our farm. We have steel targets lined up in 100yd intervals down a power line, and laying down taking 1000yd shots with a Mk12 is a blast. I don’t really hunt with them, unless you consider popping off at beavers while we’re fishing to be hunting.

That being said, it’s too easy to obtain these weapons, and its undeniable that they keep showing up as the weapon of choice for these sick deranged ######## that are shooting up schools and concerts and movie theaters and churches and whatnot. There HAVE TO BE better red flag laws that keep mentally ill people from keeping or acquiring guns. If there were, it would be much much better for gun owners and advocates in the long run.

At the end of the day, if I thought that there was a reasonable chance that giving up my ARs in some sort of buyback program would mean a real reduction in the odds of someone I love being killed in a random mass shooting, I’d really give it some thought.

Bo it ain’t just dramatic news headlines, people are murdered in grocery stores and parents lose their children at school and stuff. It’s a problem, and random, and could affect anyone at any time and ruin families.

I understand most murders and suicides are from handguns, and would certainly include them in any sort of tighter purchase requirements or red flag laws. I carry a Ruger LC9 for personal defense, and don’t anticipate people with no criminal record or red flags will always be able to obtain a gun, even if background checks were tighter.

Reasonable gun laws, in my opinion, will do more in the long run to protect gun owners. Less likely people try to outlaw guns altogether.

By reasonable, they mean anyone that voted for trump, turn in your guns.

100% agree.

No possible way I can trust any democrat politician to do anything reasonable. They do not know what reasonable means any longer.

By far most people illegally shot are shot by folks who are not allowed to have a gun. There are enough gun laws. The deal is we do not enforce the laws on the books.

Poor naive dummy! Only If we lived in Mayberry where we would experience the only crime of someone throwing rocks at our windows! Let me choose when and how I want to protect myself and my family. You stupid arssess are the same ones they keep passing and moaning about police brutality and murder and the need for a revolution. What are you going to fight back with? Air soft rifles? So freaking stupid!

Yeah. This.

No point in trying to ban guns. There's such an inventory in this country we'd never get rid of them anyway, and how the @$^& is anybody supposed to enforce that? Who on Earth is supposed to go confiscate the things? I'm not gonna be the guy with that job, no sir.

But if you take a look at places like, say, Switzerland, that are also armed to the teeth, but don't have nearly the spree-shooting problems we have, they just have a lot more sensible gun laws. Like, the Swiss are armed per capita as heavily as we are, but their murder rate with them is among the lowest in the world.

So what are they doing differently?

More shootings in Chicago this weekend than in Switzerland all year. What’s the difference? Stricter gun laws? Education? Min wage? Free college? Nah. None of those.

Demographics?

What they are doing right could be not stoking division and opening their borders.

In 2013 there were a total of 1,937,447 permanent residents (23.8% of the total population of 8.14 million) in Switzerland. Of these, 1.65 million resident foreigners (85.0%, or 20.2% of the 8.14 Million total population), had European citizenship (Italian: 298,875; German: 292,291; Portuguese: 253,227; French: 110,103; Serbian: 90,704; Kosovan: 86,976; Spanish: 75,333, Macedonian: 62,633; British: 40,898; Austrian: 39,494; Bosnian and Herzegovinian: 33,002; Croatian: 30,471). From other continents; 122,941 residents were from Asia; 83,873 from Africa; 78,433 from the Americas; and 4,145 from Oceania.

< 1% African.

Or maybe it's the lack of Asians causing the Swiss' utopia.
