Defensive Rankings of FBS Teams we've played thus far vs...

Teams left on the schedule.

While we still have to plenty to improve upon on Offense, the 6 games should be easier to move the ball (as a whole) than what we've seen thus far.

Outside of Georgia and maybe NC State, all of those D's are average or below average and just have had weak competition. We would have been averaging 48 on those teams with DWatson and crew.

I would disagree with theme being average.

1) You can't make the same blind statement for just those teams, and not make it for all other teams. After 5-6 games, everyone has played good competition and weak competition by now, not just the teams we've played.

2) 65th would be average based on 130 teams. GT is avg. BC is in the top 25%, Syracuse is in the top 15% NC State is in the top 10%, and UGA is beyond Elite.



I agree with your 2nd point. But that is off topic.


Point I'm making, we'll be playing 4 teams that have a worse Def ranking than anything we've played yet (not counting SC State).


I would like to see us improve on offense b/c there will be more opportunities.

I just watch a lot of football, like most of us, but I see nothing solid out of them. I think they would almost get torched vs decent offenses. That's what I see.

Frankly I'd rather see the offensive rankings because the teams we have played have pretty much kept the games close by scoring just enough that a bounce here or there, a few less penalties or turnovers and we could be sitting at 3-3.

I assume playing our Tigers bolstered their defensive ranks. I also assume the teams left on our schedule will fair better than their rankings.
