Flashback Monday!! 1994 Pink Floyd...

Aug 29, 2022, 11:24 AM

Not sure if it's ever been posted ..but here's a flashback shout out to all my fellow tigers that were there on that epic night that Pink Floyd brought their 45 18-wheelers of sound, lights, and lasers and set up a stage so large in Death Valley..that it took up the entire west side of the stadium it was one of the most awesome concerts I've ever been to!!
If anyone else knows of any other stadium concerts they've had there at Death Valley please put it in the comments I'd love to know who else has been there over the years...

And here's a bonus track let's go back a few more years to 1987 when Def Leppard blew the top off of Little John on their Hysteria tour! they were " in the round " and there were more hot 80's chicks there than I
think have ever been in Little John at one time ..it was packed!! Go Tigers!!

That was an awesome show indeed. I also saw U2 in 1997 and The Eagles in 1996. Both were in Death Valley also.

the Stones, Floyd, the Eagles (pretty sure Dave Matthews Band opened for them), and Billy Joel with Elton John in Death Valley. Also saw Ozzy (opened by Alice in Chains) and Hank Jr. (opened by Tanya Tucker) in Littlejohn.

A drunk will run a STOP sign, but a stoner will wait for it to turn green.

ARGH, the lack of sound quality on that thing makes a worn

out 8 track tape sound good. I had a friend back in the early 80's who was Beatles freak, and he had everything ever put on record by The Beatles, each individual member, and any bootlegs by any of them that had ever shown up for purchase. Most of the bootlegs were just about as bad sound quality wise as this Pink Floyd one. I remember among them was a bootleg of the Wings over America tour, called Wings over Atlanta.

:)

I wasn't comparing the two concerts I just thought Pink Floyd was awesome and then I saw a Def Leppard some years before and they were really good too

Saw the Eagles. Man, it was HOT that night!

Few people know...they actually had a short rehearsal around 2pm the afternoon of the concert. Since it was early in their reunion, they came in and played 4-5 songs, then went over and played golf at Walker until 6pm.

The Dave Matthews Band drove up in a rented van. No one would let them in the gates.

I was fortunate to have been in school when Pink Floyd played that summer.

I still think best concert I ever saw, and have ever seen, was Billy Joel and Elton John in The Valley. Each played their own sets and then did dueling pianos for about an hour. So good
