What's the best restaurant down there now?
Is the grocery store still a piggly wiggly? or did it go back to IGA? Or is it somesuchshit I dont know about?

It was the Pig... then a bilo... now it's a food lion! Nothing changes inside the store other than the location of the chips.
McConkey's/the restaurant formerly known as the Ruby Seahorse is good outside fast casual stuff. Good for family. Waterfront (Scott Flowers restaurant) is solid. I'm not sure what the restaurant in the golf course clubhouse is these days. Flower's seafood on the island has a food truck in the back that does the best fried shrimp in the lowcountry.
Your best bet on Edisto is to buy some shrimp or fish or crabs at Flowers or Edisto Seafood and cook them up at home.

then turned Food Lion. Still the same fuckign store, just different colors everytime. Restaurants all looked pretty packed for the most part. We didn't eat at any. Did pick up some fried and boiled shrimp from the Waterfront restaurant. Whaley's seemed to always be packed. I've found that almost all the restaurants on the island are meh. You want some dank food, stop by Flowers on the way in and pick up something fresh to cook urself.
We stayed about three blocks from the pier this year. For the first time in my life, we had to get out of the water due to sharks. Yes, ####### sharks. Though it might be dolphin since they're always out there but no sir. Erratic circling with the fin on top of the water...eh maybe shark. He dives down and see his tail fin and no it's not horizontal like mammals....####. Decent size one too. And there were several.

I've pulled up 6 foot + sand tiger and black tip sharks from about 100 yards offshore from Edingsville beach just on the other side of the state park from EB.

it. I thought something was up by the massive amount of birds circling over the water. I've seen dolphin do it before, but never sharks. I've seen them swim by but these mofos were getting after it.

Ella and Ollies. No complaints. If you want some high-end foodie-food, just give up and drive into Charleston.
My favorite place to eat there is way off the beach, off the island in fact but you can catch it on your way in or out. Roxbury Mercantile. Excellent, casual spot. Highly recommend.
