Coach Muffcramp is a wizard. We thought "Never Again" was a rally cry, turns out it was a recruiting status prediction.

Alas , tonight the moat around the Castle Cootenhaus seems broader than the English Channel.
Another decootment threatens to lay bare the pimpled skin of Clan Peckerton .

"Castle Cootenhaus" and "lay bare the pimpled skin of Clan Peckerton". If only I could share the mental image this gives me.

Actually, Muschamp better-dealed him.

He'll do that, by the way. He goes out and offers kids, accepts their commitments...and then later rescinds that scholarship offer when somebody better jumps aboard.

I just sorta shake my head. You do stuff like that, how can anybody trust your word, like ever, on anything? A man's either as good as his word...or he isn't, and if he isn't, he'll lose the people underneath him the second the arrangement is put to the test.

That was Will Muschamp to a T down at Florida...the one who had six 4-star QB's transfer out on him mostly because of broken recruiting promises, and the one who's already seen 3 former 4-star QB's transfer out at South Carolina, which was just the start of his attrition there.

Between commits and transfers, Muschamp brought in 34 new guys this past offseason. Seems kinda like a pattern....

Its almost as if the SEC put a numerical cap on the number

Sep 16, 2017, 6:52 AM

signees in one class for absolutely no reason at all.......few of their programs pay any attention to it because there's no penalty for ignoring it. The continual process of "thinning out the herd" is an abortment of giving scholarships to prospects on the basis of their football ability and minimal scholastic achievement. And ultimately---Its Just Wrong. This has been a fact of life in Columbia since the earliest days of Spurriers reign

While I personally deplore the current trend of players (noticeably QB's) transferring when they're not given what in their eyes constitutes a fair opportunity to compete for the playing time their recruiter promised-----their attitude is completely understandable. Lies are lies are lies.

There must certainly exist a sort of underground recruiting system which records the number of QB's each program signs and which individuals are likely to leave prior to the end of eligibility.....and assign someone to follow the number of plays each QB gets in for each season.......I imagine soon, NCAA sanctions for outside programs trying to poach players signed by other universities will be a reality

A disgusting sign of the times as SEC football becomes more and more the norm

As much as I agree with your and quz's statements, and hate the SEC model of oversigning, they've been doing it long enough now that it's on the high school coaches and the players. If you are part of a potential class of 30+ players, you know room will have to be made. This scumbag system is not a secret and if you voluntarily participate in it, that's on the player.

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?
• Put up goal posts
What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?
