Good job Big John taking up for his buddy. Amazing how fans can jump on a player so quickly, they were singing praises for him when he was MVP of their Mayo Bowl win over UNC last year.

We now know why they were so successful in that bowl. That Defense is still trash.
Joyner really should have listened to our coaches when we recruited him as a DB.

As I recall they wanted him to be a TE and he would’ve been great at that position. Could’ve mixed him into various formations and even trick plays.

No but honestly coaches missed on Bryan Edwards. We took Overton over Edwards and Edwards turned out to be the better WR. You win some you lose some.

Still had fun watching Overton put it in the endzone three times against BC during homecoming. He was a good one for us at times and sat behind some stellar talent for a while. Hindsight is 20/20 but I don't think either receiver was a miss.

Pretty sure we wanted Edwards and would have taken him from what I recall. We were disappointed when we lost on him. I think he was Coot bound from the get go. I could be misremembering this though. It has been some time.

We originally recruited him as a QB, but unfortunately he did not improve as much as expected from 8th grade to 12th so at some point in his junior year we told him he would get a shot at QB, but we were recruiting him as a DB. We would not sign him as a QB, he was not going to beat out TL.

in that it’s not that cola fans are trying to get clicks as much as sooth themselves for the de-cootment. They honestly believe they recruit the best and if they leave it’s only because the player actually ended up not playing to the potential they recruited…
