Day 6 with the Covid: Alive, but can't really call it

Dec 20, 2022, 11:11 AM

living yet. Wobbled to my chair just in time to hear No.1 son yakking in the toilet again. He has had a lot of intestinal problems anyway over the years, and this Covid has gotten him back into a daily pattern of upchucking, not a good thing. He has a gastric pacemaker installed, I think they need to increase the speed of it, but I am not a doc.

Myself, the sore throat STILL doggedly refuses to leave. It may be better by a few degrees, but still scorching hot. And, still a lot of muscle aches. I only have one more round of Covid meds to take, I'll have to try and coerce something else out of the doctor after that, looks like.

What's going on in the real world according to Tigernet?

who said that could make things worse. Sounded like a couple had been there and done that. I have no need to ALWAYS learn from my own mistakes, sometimes I will actually use wisdom from others.

I did take two slugs of Nyquil last night, lasted about half the night. Half is better than none, unless you are talking about STD's!

Hang in there 76er. Claim the promise of the Scriptures for yourself: "My Grace is always sufficient for thee." Thus saith the Lord.

Lifting you up to Him and asking for His healing touch!

Hang in there 76er. You’re far too ornery to let this thing get the best of you

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sorry to hear that.

Dec 20, 2022, 11:28 AM

Praying for you.

COVID is a real disease. Some people never catch it. Others catch it but it is very minor. Some catch it and it really knocks them down. I was in the "very minor" group. Felt bad for 48 hours, then started feeling much better and by day 5 felt 100%.

The only advice I can give you is to get good medical advice and then follow that advice.

You are in our thoughts and prayers. I hope you can get an edge on this enemy and be able to feel the power by game time next week.

Hang in there man

Unfortunately it takes longer for some than others.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

My bad luck is well established.

Dec 20, 2022, 11:55 AM

So much so that I said years ago, "If it was raining (female sex parts), I'd catch one with a (male sex part) stuck it it."

Now, that's bad luck right there.

Continuing to pray for you 76er!***

Chin up. It's got to get better sooner or later.

Did you have any vaccines prior to this? I have family members in SC who did and some did not so I'm curious as to what they may experience if they get Covid. I wish you well.

I had the Pfizer/Biontech vaccine and a booster. I also had

Flu and Pneumonia vaccines this year, along with Part 1 of the Shingles vaccine.

but whether or not someone got the shots is a terrible predictor of how they will be affected by the virus.

The severity of the virus is overwhelmingly more tied to other factors such as co-morbidities.

whole mew pacemaker/ICD put in last Thursday. Knock on wood, but it has been a piece of cake so far; no pain to speak of, just some minor discomfort, and can't lift anything with or extend left arm. The worst thing is I can't drive for another 10 days or so. It sounds like you've got it rough, brother. The good thing is, you've got to be close to getting over the hump by now. Thoughts and prayers your way, 76er!
