David Cutcliffe

Dec 10, 2021, 8:41 AM

I'm not sure about him being the OC due to his age and I'm not even sure if he'd be interested in an assistant coaching role at this point of his career. However, does anyone think it'd be worth it to see if he'd consider coming on as CO-OC along with Streeter if Elliott leaves? He has a great history coaching quarterbacks and would add value to the recruiting of Arch Manning due to his relationship with the Manning family.

He wants to completely retire and enjoy his grandkids.***

I've always thought the same. You have to figure the older coaches and athletes still going at it are doing so for the love of what they do rather than a need of money. I'm happy for him though if he's able to retire and enjoy his family.

I can't even imagine the "having a few millions" part of it.

Cutcliffe, he did not help Chase or his last QB

He may be over the hill? Ask Chase, he would give an honest answer. He just had a great year at App.State.

From what I have heard he still wants to coach, but is unsure if he has the energy to do all that is required for running a program. I'd say he will either end up a leading a group of five/ FCS team or will end up as an offensive assistant on a big time staff. I do not think he would still be interested in being an OC or QB coach as there would be too much recruiting, game planning meetings, ect. At that point he would probably take the benefit of running his own smaller program.

Especially if Elliot leaves and we promote from within, he would be a huge asset to a first time offensive coordinator.

He should become our Offensive Analyst

Assuming that spot opens up in all of the moving around
