Looks like we offered him, he absolutely killed the north/south game and is already a big kid. Hoping we pick him up would be a steal for this class.

Just watched some clips and he is super explosive. He looks very raw, so will need some coaching. He’ll get that. You’re right. Definitely a steal if he chooses the food guys.

Dabo, Mickey, and Danny saw every game Daniel played this year this year because I saw them and talked to them at almost every game. Jaheem could not make it at Clemson for lots of reasons. In high school his size and speed gave him the advantage, but he is undisciplined and doesn’t listen to coaches (uncoachable). He also has grades that Clemson cannot overlook. He’s barely getting out of high school. Being a legacy athlete, you know there must be tons of reasons Clemson has not recruited him at all. He’ll end up at a school where grades and self-discipline don’t matter. Daniel’s coach overlooked a lot of poor behavior to keep him on the field.

It looks like we will get to see what this kid is made of now, unless he spurns the home team. Hopefully Lawson will mature and develop into a serviceable two deep defensive lineman in a couple years for our Tigers, but I have a feeling the transfer portal is a more likely landing spot for this player. I hope I am wrong and the young man proves me wrong.

Maybe Shaq can talk some sense into him. Shaq was one of the nicest, most humble guys around when he was at Clemson. Hopefully little brother just needs some time to mature.

Let’s suppose for just a second that there is something to what moon is saying. Kind of makes sense that there may be some concern or we would have offered before now. This may be in response to the “roster management issues” some of y’all keep criticizing Dabo for. Maybe they are taking a chance on a kid they would not normally. We do have spots to fill. Frankly I’d rather take a chance on Shaq’s little brother than a guy coming out of the portal that we may not know as well.
My final thought - I hope this isn’t a signal that KJ isn’t coming back - I really hope he comes back and a kid like Jaheem could benefit a lot from being in the locker room with KJ.

So based on what you're saying, our brand new DC just flopped by giving the offer. The school that vets offers almost to a detriment. Surely there's enough posters here that can back it up if true. Sorry, not buying it.

I’m not saying he flopped at all. Quite the opposite. You even say we vet recruits “almost to a detriment “. This looks like the coaching staff recognizes what a lot of people on here have been critical of - that we don’t have enough guys coming in this year and are starting to extend some offers we may not have extended if everything was “normal”. But it also shows they would still rather take a chance on guys coming out of high school that we know something about and might be able to immerse in our culture than a guy out of the portal.

Ga Tech, Syracuse, West Kentucky, coastal, couple others but weren't p5. Esecpn has no rating and 247 rates as low 3* @ 83.04.
Maybe others in portal could be immediate help but we know he's been well vetted. Not sure why it took so long. We wanted Dindy and the other kid that did chose Oklahoma. Were our top 2. So we could have offered early. Just an offer, hasn't committed yet. Hth.

We only have 12 guys signed. They are 12 of the best players signed by any school in the country.
But, the classes of other schools with 20 or more signed are viewed as “better” even though they are weak on the top end and many of their players no more highly regarded than Lawson.
The fact is that if we take 7-8 more guys like Lawson, our class will suddenly rank Top-10. That’s what most of the MOT seem to be concerned with.
So, now they’re getting their wish. We’re filling in with numbers even though these are not players that initially get anyone excited.
Maybe a couple turn out like Ryan Carter. Who knows.
But anyway ... by February, we’ll be able to feel god about our Top-10 recruiting class.
