Dang, had to cancel my Jet Boat ride from Tybee over to Hilton Head

for seafood lunch at Hudson's Seafood on the ICW part named Skull Creek due to rain & lightening..so looked across from the boat ramp landing at Tybee, saw the old standby place named CoCo's Sunset Grille..so headed over, found a back lot space deep enough for car & boat.
Having a Whiskey/Ginger Ale drink to calm down the nerves, Seafood Gumbo with lots of added shrimps, hush puppies & of course the key-lime pie slice (average).
Since GF #1 has a big home-cooked meal ready at 7pm I didn't want to load up!
Note: the boat ride from Tybee Island Ga isn't something to kid about even on a sunny day in a small craft what with a low tide causing you to go out to the ocean edge since the Savanna River has large rock boulders that are exposed on each side of the channel at that outer point so to guide freighters from the ocean into the further end of the river near town..
and then you've got some choppy waters where the Caliboque Sound meets the ocean near Daufuskie Island which is about a half mile opp HHI and Harbor Town.
So I made a sound decision to fold and boat another day even if weather looks rainy for next week.
Life is sweet, even when rained out & old as sin~
Oh, how bout that new big Texas OL Recruit!!
Go TiGERS~

up on GF #1, as he seems to spend the majority of time with her.
He mentions #2 and #3 much less often. Maybe they're in an assisted living facility?

at 81 years old. I get to live vicariously through you. That is why I didn't mind taking over your POTD reporting that you started. You certainly do get around, usually with a GF # Something in tow!

Last time some lake friends and I took our boats down

through the lower lakes to Charleston, we got into a he1l of a storm just as we neared the city, so we dropped anchors, enclosed our bimini tops and rode out the weather. The boat's cabin kept us well-stocked with liquid refreshment.
The storm passed, we boated on to the city, then to Edisto and Harbortown via the ICW. Lucked up as the weather for the rest of the trip was perfect. We were at Harbortown a few days, so we cruised around the islands, stopping for swims, lunches, etc. Other than the initial storm, it turned out to be one of the best trips. I had a 30' Regal Cruiser with the only thing missing being AC, so we didn't attempt to stay overnight on the boat, but in condos adjacent to the docks. Liked that much better.
Am enjoying your posts about your adventures! Best wishes, ole Friend!
