Yeah we were very fortunate to have him coach the last 8 years of his career with us. I hope he was able to pass along some of his skillset to assistants.

Dan will be missed greatly, how do you replace the best

Feb 5, 2017, 9:05 AM

I so wish he could have shared his ideals with Todd Bates. I think we made a great hire but could you imagine the wisdom Dan could share even for a couple of months.

I think we found another great coach but wisdom is hard to beat.

how do you replace the best....? Find someone better. I bet if you asked Brooks he would tell you the same thing.

I don't think you are going to find a defensive line coach better than Dan Brooks ! I jumped up and down when Dabo announced he was hiring Coach Brooks because I knew how much he did for the UT Vols and their defense.

Sure would be great, davidhood® if you could get an interview with him. I'll bet he's got some great stories after 40+ years in the business.

Love Coach Brooks and hope he lives all of his retirement dreams.

he'll still be around from time to time...checking on things . I'm sure he'll be available for advice for the Clemson staff . After all of those years you don't just walk away completely .

No better way to go out.

He will definitely be missed by players, coaches & fans. Like Dabo said, he earned it. Good luck in retirement Brooks & enjoy the rest of your journey in life. God bless & go Tigers! ! !

position on the field than the DL? You knew they were going to give 100% every play, every game, and show sound technique. I hope his vast experience, knowledge, and motivational skills aren't lost along with his well-deserved retirement.

4 DL are tied for the Super Bowl sack record with 3 in one game.

2 of them were coached by Dan Brooks!

Reggie White and Grady Jarrett.
