Dabo's Top five win ????

Oct 31, 2021, 10:58 AM

David Hood. Would you ask Dabo what are his other top 5 wins are? Sounds like he is getting into politics. Maybe he is planning on running for president in 2024

While yes you’d think that winning all the highly ranking games like National championships, playoff, or bowl games would be the ones an individual would rank as their personal favorites, other games like this one has more meanings to that individual than others. It could be sentimental reasons, or even spiritual reasons. It doesn’t have to be political.

I found it a bit odd as well, BUT it is surely at the time of the most whining by the fans in his tenure. Maybe he is just proud of the way the team responded after the fan base implosion of 2021?
And, can you imagine the pearl clutching had we lost?
So I think Dabo has earned the right to rank them as he sees them at this point. His detractors are saying, “Wait a minute, you can’t like strawberry ice cream because we don’t like strawberry ice cream!”
Dabo gets to choose his own flavor and rank his own games - deal with it.

Sorry PawGuy1 ... not David Hood responding on this post. But here's my take:

Dabo's entire persona is one of grit, hard work, and perseverance through difficult times. We've all heard about his life outside of football, and of his 'non-traditional' path from football coaching to the private sector and then back to football coaching. And we all know about the 'high risk' that T.Don Phillips took when elevating Dabo from Interim HC to 'Full Time' HC after the win over U. of S.Carolina in 2008. Which football games (perhaps excluding his games as a player at U. of Alabama) would epitomize (or are metaphors) for Dabo's life? Here's my guesses:

(1) BC game 2008: Dabo's first win as HC.
(2) U of SC game in 2008: Dabo gets 'Full Time' HC job as a result of that victory
(3) Bowl victory against LSU at end of 2012 season: First win against a true FB super-power.
(4) 2016 Natty
(5) 2018 Natty

OK, the FSU game yesterday being in Dabo's Top 5 might be a bit of hyperbole, but with the 2021 season being of one of grit, hard work, and perseverance through hard times, yesterday's victory over FSU could legitimately be believed to be in Dabo's top 6 to top 10 victories.
