Coach Swinney is here, says it's a huge challenge this week, going on the road at NC State. "Very good team. Complete. One of the most experienced teams in the country for sure." He says they are well-coached, play hard, tough and smart.
He says the NC State defense "look like us on tape." Guys who have played a lot of football, stingy, not allowed a rushing TD in three games. Confident group. Very good special teams group. School record holder in FG and punting.
Tyler Davis had surgery this morning. They look forward to getting him back but next man up. Ruke has played well and they have him and some other guys that have gotten experience and have played well.
Swinney says "some day we will take practice to game day. Our guys are committed. We have great effort, but it's great effort and technique that leads to execution and that is what we are missing right now."
3. I struggle with connecting the dots on disparate bits of information. It hurts me from making informed decisions. Example: When Dabo says "...it was a surprise" regarding Lyn J Dixon entering the transfer portal, I believe him.
Swinney says there is still depth at RB. They think Phil Mafah will be a week-to-week kind of deal. They feel good about the guys they have. He says Lyn-J made a decision and got a head start on the portal. He says it was a surprise
Maybe he was expecting Dixon to oh I don't know, listen to what he was saying and grow up? So many people talk about coddling kids nowadays then turn on people at the drop of the hat when they don't agree with someone actually not doing it. Dabo has done pretty ok so far, how about we give him the benefit of the doubt?
